How does a 21 year old afford a BMW capable of doing those speeds anyway, not to mention the insurance which must be through the roof? There ought to be a law banning people that young from having that fast a car.

My old driving instructor told me that driving examiners are extremely tough with people who have to do an extended text as they know they have been reckless/ dangerous.
By all accounts they have a lower pass rate than people sitting a normal test.

Well, a 20mph difference. Not sure how relevant that is considering.
On a side note, I was at a junction today, visibility was crap; grey skies with the air full of sleet and rain.
From one side came a plain black Corsa with a learner at wheel and no lights on.
The other way came a black motorbike with the rider in complete black kit head to toe, with twin headlights and neither of them on.
Idiots, idiots everywhere.
Anyone out on 2 wheels today is a lot braver than me. Or a lot more stupid. Probably both tbh.
The point about 50 v 30mph zones is that one is a built up area with pedestrians/kids etc. In a 50 mph zone it's probably a country road so the guy is most likely to just kill himself if/when he loses it on a bend.
Not condoning it, but one for me is worthy a hefty fine/ban etc, the other worthy of stringing him up by his balls.

It was sh1te wasn't it. He is also a proper moron given that driving at 100 mph+ is an automatic ban, but on country roads is not all that easy to prove. Unless you record yourself doing it of course, then the police really don't have to work all that hard to catch you.

I'm more irritated by people on the roads not using lights on a day when every chance needs to be used for vehicles to be seen.
Regardless of the mode they use.

I wear black on my motorbike - mainly cos it's so frigging expensive (Minimum £350+ for a decent jacket) that you don't want to buy a blue one and then find yourself on a green bike. Black goes with any colour motorbike so you can buy decent gear and keep it for 10 years rather changing every time you change your bike.
Got bright coloured motorbikes, headlights and white/fluorescent lids.
And to be fair - plenty of times I've been in a hiviz and some fcktard has pulled out on me anyway.
