Had it been Nsiala/Wilson in our defence then both of them would have been an easy target for some people.

Yet another game and this shower of defence concede stupid goals. However the certain players will remain free of criticism in the eyes of some.

I thought Wolfie had as poor a game as I’ve seen him have.

He's been poor for a while. But 'hE iS oNe oF oUr Own' so he'll get away with it. Nsiala and Wilson wouldn't.

Now becoming a confidence issue , that will only deteriorate under Lambert .

He and Chambers both did today.

The whole defence too static.

However, that is not our only problem. Lack of attacking intent is actually a greater concern for me. Could anyone aside from Brenner Woolley see us getting back in that match?

We are very close to dropping out of the play-offs now.

Been poor all season.

How many goals did they miss? This problem is not related to individuals, it's the whole package that is crap. The lack of direction and decisiveness in the team as a whole amplifies individual weakness. Our attack is so toothless that opposition could play one at the back. I lay this totally at Lambert's doorstep. We are going backwards in the style and effectiveness of our football and only beat teams we can bully.

Brenner's 'Can Ipswich perform a smash and grab' with about 20 seconds to go and similar prior statements sounded so forced, in the transparent guise of being 'positive'. You could sense the embarrassment in his voice at having to say such rediculous things.

Odd argument to be starting in the circumstances

I worry for you if you think that is the problem and would have made a difference today

Think the first goal was just a great goal. And rare in that for most goals you can point at a defensive error.

Overall though, the Pompey attack certainly seemed to have the measure of our defence. They just pushed up on us all the time knowing that even when we had the ball it was coming back to them soon enough.

'We are very close to dropping out of the play-offs now'.

We are nowhere near top 6 in reality.

That’s the management team doing their homework on us after the cup game , and even improved on the first win by keeping a clean sheet this time ..... good management , something we severely lack !

If we somehow managed to finish in the play offs at the end of the season, we would not be able to beat any other team at that level. The only way we are going to get promotion is via the automatic places and that is not going to happen based on the last two seasons performance.

Nsiala is one of our worst ever players.

Some people seem to constantly want him to play or say "don't criticise, he's a good lad" blah blah, which I'm sure he is. Maybe it's because he has an unusual name.

The sad thing is, he is worse then these other 2 playing from what games I have seen.

I reserve judgement on the specific goal mentioned until I see it.

2 goals in 5 games is an issue as well.......

Nsiala would have tried to head the ball away in the build-up for their second goal. Chambers though was easily outdone.

The problem is. Nsiala. Woolfy. Mgc. None of them are comfortable when facing their own goal. All three need an experienced but solid partner which we don't have.
Plus apart from woolfy the others hate the ball at their feet.

They are set up to fail

a niche perspective

So Chambers was responsible for both goals? I would focus on the actual problem rather than trying to big up a player that really is not that great ( he is big though ).

Chambers? Lets mention the facts

0-3 to Hull and easily caught for their second goal by Magennis
0-2 to Charlton their second too when he was too slow to react and left Bogle at the far post
And today easily outdone by Curtis in the build-up for their second goal.

Oh yeah lets give him yet another contract extension at the end of the season.

Nsiala, Wilson or Donacien would have been heavily criticised for this kind of mistakes.

Him and the arsenal kid should be out, powder puffs and poor positioning consistantly, get some battle hardened men in there and fast,
