Not a fan of slugs 22:50 - Mar 8 with 1516 views | jeera | But as far as superpowers go, being able to regrow yourself after serious injury, including decapitating oneself, is a useful one to have. I'm not sure how many times cutting off one's own head would be useful but there must be the odd occasion. At least you could see if your head would fit through some railings, which lets face it, we've all wondered from time to time: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/slug-can-decapitate-itself-and-regrow-its-e [Post edited 8 Mar 2021 22:53]

I'm not certain the slug gets to choose its new self from a catalogue. I think it probably gets what it's given. We create new cells all the time don't we. Unfortunately those new cells don't regenerate as anything other than copycat replacements of the old ones that died!

It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Do you have its Latin name Guthers...is it the Spanish one? Arion Rufus...more red than orangey-yellow.

Yes, that's the one. Or Arion Vulgaris. Have only seen it once or twice in the wild (as opposed to pictures). The frogs in my mother's garden won't touch them.

Not a fan of slugs on 09:46 - Mar 9 with 1177 views | The_Flashing_Smile | Sorry I’d like to be honest with you right from the start I’m a murderer (But one with a heart). I’m not messing, I’m confessing To all of my crimes I don’t fib And I hope it don’t seem glib that it rhymes. My crimes aren’t of passion, premeditated or greed I just didn’t see you And it makes my heart bleed I need to plead… guilty For all the times when I rushed This is my apology To all the snails I’ve crushed. I try to avoid you But after it rains You’re a slow slithering minefield With delicate frames Ipso facto, I tiptoe, there and back though I lack Light-footedness, and I confess When I hear that crack… I wince I must convince… you I truly am sorry For going down on you (and not in a good way) But like the wheels of a lorry That passed over grass as the story unfurled I’m public enemy number one In the terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc… world. Don’t laugh The footpath is a dangerous place Where the gastropod plod face their latest case A size 11 shoe wreaked havoc from Hades (It’s true, I do have big feet ladies!) I digress, it’s the stress, and yes Snails, I’m rubbish I destroyed the home you carry alone And now you’re feeling sluggish.
