There hasn't been alot, and as we saw, the fans certainly don't hold him in great regards, but I've just finished watching the below and I found it quite balanced and possibly of interest to some
I also come across this for those interested, a bit of transfer talk from Mark and how it worked at Bristol with himself and the managers, also covers injuries, performance dept etc etc

Really long interesting read, thanks for the link. What's obvious is that he is entirely happy with the manager having the last say on who comes in and out of the club player wise. No reason to think that won't be the case here. For all of the BC fans saying good riddance I think he will turn out to be the best signing weve made for years!

For me, watching that podcast and then reading that transcript, just shows how the fans really don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I include myself in this, but i've never really took the time to think about how Covid really did effect football clubs, especially the water based recovery etc

This is extremely interesting and a little insight on how things are going to work in future. With a Chairman who he’s worked with before it looks like finally, at long last, some structure will be put into the football club and for me that’s the key. If this is right, the rest of it will fall into place.
Ashton comes across as clear sighted, experienced and knowledgeable. A bit like the Chairman really. A real contrast with Evans and his stooges. The future will be very interesting and I can’t wait to see things change. If ever a club needed it, it’s this one.

I feel very confident it will work really well, especially with the support of O'leary, almost very similar by the sounds of it to his relationship with the BC chairman.
It's quite interesting at the moment, The Fans are putting pressure on the club via the local press to send Ashton on Gardening leave,

Suits us! He can spend more time getting ready to kick out the serial losers and wasters at our club and then help get some actual quality in to replace them.

I'm sure he's unofficially on gardening leave anyway. Be very surprised if he's still involved in anything significant that is going on there and if he's not already involved with what is going on here in some capacity.

According to the BC journo's he's still very much hands on, hence the supporters issues with it

He worked with him before at West Brom 15 years ago didn’t he, so this key relationship will work.
As far as Ashton himself as concerned, he comes across as very professional. I can’t see why Bristol City supporters are getting upset about him working to the agreed date. It’s not as if he can do anything much at this time of year and I’m sure if they appoint a replacement soon they’ll let him go anyway.

Yeah, and Oxford briefly too I believe
I think their beef is that they went on an American Tour pre season 2 years ago..... 2+2= 5 maybe, but they believe the tour was a way to start discussions about investment from Brett etc into an English club.
Their theory then is that there are players he signed up only until this summer..........
There's a difference between being involved in getting a red card over turned and being front and centre of summer recruitment and major decisions affecting the club going forwards though.
This must have been in the offing for a while - senior executives don't have a 6-8 week notice period and he's clearly been involved/linked to this takeover for months and months.

I may be wrong, but from gatherings of info from various BC forums etc
Mark has a hand in a few pots that are all involved in BC, from recruitment teams, to football fitness, etc I think his brother in law is involved in some capacity too, so it's quite complex and will take time to organise.
But you are right regarding the card situ, and I'd be surprised if he's involved in contracts.

Interesting, seems to be good at addressing a lot of issues we have. One concern is the perceived lack of success in revamping the injury side.
Have a gander at the transcript of an interview with him, 4th post from my OP, I think it's halfway down M/A speaks about injuries. How covid had/has an effect which TBF I think we all take for granted when it comes to injury recovery

If he authorises replacement of the 20 year old magic sponge it’ll be an upgrade.
On a serious note, that’s an interesting one. He is asked about it in that interview. I think the question to ask is does a club broadly have more injuries than another, what type of players is it employing (eg injury prone has beens or glass knee youngsters against fitter people), how do facilities compare, how qualified are the rehab/fitness people, who has the final say on whether a player is rushed back into the team?
My suspicion is that at Ipswich the medical side has been neglected with everything else so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with this.

Because an Ashton doesn’t come cheap. When you sweat the assets as Evans did, money only goes where it has to. Ironically that appeared to include a five year contract for a windbag Scots bloke who couldn’t manage his way out of his own bathroom.

Of course we don't know the exact outlay, but the rumours are that he's on £750k per year at BC, then if you add O'Leary who id' imagine will get a wage(?), plus the addition of a new recruitment team, new operations manager, new medical team, scouts etc. That's alot of investment Evans just couldn't find room for on his balance sheet I guess

Definately, I Guess it was just down to M.E wanting the control . I can't remember where I read it, but it was from an ex itfc employee who was saying that everything no matter how small had to be signed off by M.E including line marking paint invoices, and on one occasion the u18 had to use blue on morning of their game as we ran out of white paint.
