Yes he did for a while didn't he - almost opposite the original village hall I believe. Of course Ian Lavender still lives there (Villa supporter). i lived there myself in the 1950's.

I can remember him, Liverpool poet Adrian Henri and another creative being vilified in a tabloid (I think it was The Daily Express, which was broadsheet format at the time) because they got Arts Council funding for carrying a plank around Suffolk and visiting pubs.
