It really does feel that another dominant CB and maybe a more confident keeper (and obviously less stupid errors) would alleviate a lot of these types of goals.

Exact reason why i've been so positive about things. We've not been outplayed, ripped apart and our defence being split open. We've literally caused all our own problems. Walton could and prob would stopped a fair few of those goals going in. For example.. would he have seen the AFC player free in the box and managed to get him marked... etc
Edmundson may be the CB you refer to. He is known for being a stubborn rock at the back. Not a baller, but a wack it type [Post edited 30 Aug 2021 12:04]

Wolfy just frustratingly has this 'can't be bothered' feel to his game. As you know i've always liked him... but he just doesnt fill me with confidence that he's actually concentrating for 90 odd minutes. It's quite bizarre. I almost want to see him go away on loan, then come back if he's turned into that defence we think he could be. | |

I think concentration is his key issue. The other problem we have is Cook likes ball playing centre backs and, if it’s true that Edmundson is more of an old fashioned centre back, then Woolfenden is the only one we have in the squad. Some of cross field passes have been wonderful, Saturday again being the case. But it’s his focus that can let him down. Is he the biggest problem we have, though? For me nowhere near. | |
