Djokovic exempt because of 'Covid infection' on 08:52 - Jan 8 with 1312 views | LeoMuff | Aussie government have staked a ton of political capital on this so I can’t see them changing their mind. If he has impartial proof of this infection though he may be all good as I believe this was on the exemption list.

Djokovic exempt because of 'Covid infection' on 09:41 - Jan 8 with 1259 views | King_of_Portman_Rd | I’ve not followed this, or the Covid regulations in Australia that closely, but am I right in assuming that Djokovic has now stated he can’t be jabbed because he had Covid a couple of weeks ago? When there has never been a mention of him testing positive until it came out today… Surely if that is his sole argument then it is weak as pi$$ isn’t it surely? And he’ll be loaded onto a plane out of Australia

Thought would quick read Australia’s requirements. https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/travel-restrictions Don’t see anyway he can gain entry. He apparently tested positive day after the regulations came into force. Presumably they will delay a jab for medical reasons if you test positive. But to be fully vaccinated he would have have to have had his first jab several months ago and to have been due his second at least 14 days before he arrived in Australia. He isn’t being held against his will he is free to leave Australia anytime he likes. Just being a covidiot over it.

Surely unless he can prove a positive test for both delta and omicron its irrelevant wether he has been infected or not.

Seems odd, too, that Djokovic can catch Covid whilst unvaccinated, yet be back to full fitness and capable of playing in a top-level tennis tournament less than three weeks after his alleged infection.

It affects different people in different ways. Some become seriously ill and die. Some get mild cold-like symptoms. If his symptoms were mild then there is no reason why a man who is an elite athlete wouldn't be back to his best a few weeks later.

Yes, that's a very valid point, and one I hadn't considered. That said, the thread by the BBC journo poses some interesting questions if, as ND claims, he tested positive on 16/12. Either he's lying out of his backside, or he's even more selfish and self-centred than his anti-Vax stance alone suggests.

That's not a good look. So he's either a Covidiot looking to get around the rules or genuinely did get it and then freely circulated knowing he was positive, and is therefore a total a-hole.

Innit. If he knowingly circulated after testing positive, I'd like to think that the authorities would be interested in that and come down on him like a tonne of bricks (assuming he was breaching laws at that time).

..and the following day (Dec 17), according to the BBC, he attended the launch of commemorative stamps with his face on. He was of course, not wearing a mask. Whatever the outcome, he's got a year or more of sustaining booing whilst on court, hasn't he?

Nope, he did that on the same day of his alleged positive PCR, the following day (Dec 17th) he attended an awards ceremony at the Novak Tennis Centre, again indoors, again maskless, and posed for selfies with children. He's going to get bundled onto a plane and banned from re-entry for three years.

He can take the single shot J&J vaccine to be fully vaccinated as other tennis players have done. But he just doesn't want to be vaccinated. Wouldn't be surprised if he deliberately got himself infected

Why? Plenty of people vaccinated or not have little to no symptoms.
