…which is becoming a hallmark under McKenna. We moved away from that having suffered it under Lambert but it appears to be back.

I have a sneaking feeling that McK is after a different kind of striker. He doesn't to have a go to "number 9"

What I said recently. Spent loads of money sacked 2 managers to be back to where we were. My biggest fear was having another coach who liked pretty football. Get nasty. Put some diags in and get the ball into the box. No point having pigs and nors on the pitch if you're not getting them in the box.

Any chance at all we can give our new smarmy manager more than half a dozen games before making sweeping judgements about our play? Maybe even a proper preseason or 3? That was a poor half but these things can take time, the need for instant gratification of opinions or to be first with some insight is tiresome. SB

Oh look shock. SB picks my reply to the OP to respond to despite it being one of many of similar view. Have a break SB your personal infatuation is getting to worrying levels.

None of the other posters said what you did though so not sure why you are claiming a similar view. My post was perfectly civil, perhaps you could address the points in it rather than claiming some "woe is me" that would be helpful. I'm only using the forum as intended after all. SB

My point of view, (which is well known) is that it wasn’t even that broke to need fixing so the idea of needing a lot of games to make his impression on the side feels like a misnomer. I’m happy to give it time but Gillingham away aside, it’s not been inspiring enough to warrant the sacking of Cook imo.

Keanish did lol. Its like Lambert football. So there you go. There's your first example. There's no points to address. Today is another game where we've had alot of the ball and doing nothing with it. Just like many of the previous games. Altho it's a negative view so you won't accept a different one to your own.

You say that, but we scored nil in 5 out of Cook's last 8 games. Or 3 of last 4 league games if you want to ignore the cup. [Post edited 5 Feb 2022 16:15]

I don't think that's particularly fair: 1) It clearly was broken, we were going nowhere under Cook. 2) You've made the assumption that a new manager will be a continuation of tactics and style as the previous manager and thus he shouldn't need games - this is clearly not the case in virtually every managerial change. I’ve not made that assumption at all. Other than the system McKenna inherited, what exactly is McKenna’s style and approach? We should be seeing it by now but its a half way house between Cook and Lambert at the moment. It was far from broken under Cook. Inconsistent but not broken.

Quite ironic that a manager needs time to get across a style and approach.. It's taken Harris a week and Gills are night and day from what they were.

I can't see how not beating a L2 side after multiple attempts counts as anything but very broken.

Which is what KM did on his first few games here. We have major problems without Morsy in the team - it's not that deep.

…but we created though and more often than not, had threat. In the last four games we’ve seen all the defensive frailties we had under Cook only we’re carrying less potency in the final third. At the moment, we’re struggling at home to Gillingham who we walked over a month ago. Why? This should be a walk in the park.

Why don't you apply for the job next time? You clearly have all the answers, have the best appraisals of all players and are a tactical genius. We could do with you in the dugout. SB
