only two games but at this stage I would prefer us to be developing KVY there

Poll: If ITFC were to be relegated, would McKenna be poached to manage in the Prem?

Might be a decent left back but he isn't a wing back.

it's not been an auspicious start, but I can see him growing into it a little?

I assumed when we went looking for a left wing back we'd look to bring in someone quite offensive, with the ability to dribble past players and drive us forward, but he doesn't seem to be that. He looks defensively pretty sound and it occurs to me that McKenna may have looked at our goals conceded column and concluded that was the priority.

Main good offensive thing I've noticed is that he's willing to cross from deep and decent at it, which I like. Maybe over time we'll look to exploit that as part of our pattern of play, like we do with Burns going one-on-one with the full back?

I'd rather develop our own left back, Penney. Our only left back in fact.

Even aside from developing, even if you're just looking at the short term Penney is the better option, especially in this formation.

It’s too soon to judge Thompson, but I agree we should always be developing our own players before resorting to loanees unless the latter offer something we don’t have. I’m not a big fan of loanees as a principle.

Full backs are crucial and I hope we strengthen in that area in the summer .

Thompson is a better defender, Penney is better going forward. What we need is a hybrid of the two.

I think he’s been OK. Looks to have a good all-round game but struggling to find his position in those 2 games. Mainly because it’s been a bit of a muddle around him.

When Edward was ahead of him he seems to do really well. Less pressure to get forward, he looked relieved to have somebody to partner with.

I don't think Matt Penney will develop into what we need, been a weak link most of the season.

Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't here next season, we'll certainly recruit at least one in front of him

It was difficult for him Saturday... on 19:31 - Feb 6 with 827 viewsunstableblue

...in terms of his ability to go forward and create threats

The Fridge was feeding him a little late, Evans/Carrol were feeding him sideways and conservatively, and Norwood was not providing many options.. think Celina would have been better ahead of him

KVY had a very promising second half against Accrington Stanley as left wing-back
