A good point today...but 17:07 - Feb 12 with 4539 viewsArnieM

I think McK made a mistake going for Jackson. He offers us nothing up front. Just wish Bonne could find his form again, because his work rate is exceptional.

Going forwards, Im not convinced that many of the current strikers at the club will still be here next season and I think McK is evaluating them now tbh.

Overall a very good point ...well played lads

Seems lot of people made their mind up about Jackson before the game, probably before the season started to be honest. He was fine today and an improvement on Norwood last week.

MalcolmBlue is probably a good option although he is past his best.

Nonsense...he's got plenty of room to develop...he may have the body of a 54 year old but he has the enthusiasm of a 12 year old...

A number were expecting us to lose today.

Several others expressed they'd be happy with a point which we got.

I thought we played well for much of the game and like how we look. We look confident pushing forwards as a unit and get back to defend in numbers.

We look like we have an actual game plan the players understand.

Think your wrong Jackson did well, Bonne n Norwood dear oh dear, can't do simple passes to each other, powder puff header, and Norwood nearly cost us the game, time and a place for his pushing that wasn't it,

Norwood and Bonne haven't been firing...so if Jackson has trained well he deserves a shot.

He was the right option over the less mobile Piggot for today's game.

Not a massive Jackson lover but thought he did well today. The change we should have made earlier was Aluko for Chaplin imo. Just needed someone cute enough to play that final pass from the hole. Celina caused them plenty of problems without having that final ball and Chaplin is more effective in the area but less creative.

We also made a mistake or two and yet didn't concede.

We are no longer a fragile side playing attractive football without enough bite or the ability to manage the game situation.

But still there are a couple of posters who make it their mission to single out some of our players for criticism.

I thought Jackson put in a good shift and could see why Mck's reasoning in selecting him with Chaplin and Celina playing in behind.

Did you watch the game?

Think I would disagree with you. His closing down was mostly half hearted and (for me ( went through the motions of closing down. He never forced an error by the defender, never actually tackled. in fact when he got close to the player he stopped...so for me that was poor. There's no end product with him and he doesn't bring others into the game...but that's just how I see it .

I disagree. He ran his socks off and kept defenders busy, giving Chaplin and Celina some space.

The problem, is how good are Norwood and Bonne? Norwood goes through decent spells but overall is average. Bonne flatters to deceive. How many goals has he scored in last fifteen appearances?

We need a very good striker in the summer. Seems like Piggot is out of favour.

We do have a decent goalie too tbf!

He must inspire some confidence mustn't he?

Nothing worse than edgy defenders worried silly about the man behind them.

My prediction was 2-2 so I got it wrong, I quietly hoped we might get a win, but I’ll take draw away to a top 6 side all day long.

True, although we also kept a clean sheet with Hladky under McKenna. A keeper will look better if they are not put under repeated pressure.

On the player ratings Walton has the highest in 5 of our last 7 matches, though. He is a key player for us.

Could've easily been 2-2 tbf Churchers.

Missed opportunities both ends.

Fair result all round really.

But Barcablue Jackson don't score goals and to win games it is required agree Bonne has not recently but overall is a better footballer
The best goalscorer is Norwood
If we are honest . But often the ball don't stick when he receives we will be looking in the summer for a striker possibly two

It was 0-0, another 21 players plus subs didn't score either so why single out Jackson? Not entirely sure what your point is there to be honest.
