Derby County deal has offically collapsed 19:33 - Jun 13 with 1839 views | Hipsterectomy | So they have about two weeks to find a buyer? How do they even do a 'fit and proper' test in that time?

I think it will be Ashley, he has the ability to go pump money into the club immediately, the administrators really seem to want to sell with anyone but, however it makes so much sense, cash purchase, no need to wrangle together a consortium, should have no issue with a fit and proper persons test. He's locked, loaded and ready to go and with little time remaining anyone else would to pull a bid together pretty quickly. Some on here that have been following closer than I suggested the impasse with Ashley may come over fees and I'd be curious to know more on that if anyone had any Info as Quantana claim they have so far not been paid for any work, well they won't see a penny if Derby go under. Cut their losses and run, it's been a PR disaster for their busisness.

Beg to differ. Quantuma WILL see every penny, as they're numero uno creditor. They'll recoup it from the sale of existing contracted players and other assets - the stadium too?

Morris structured the stadium deal to make him a preferred creditor over and above any other. So he’ll get his £20m+ Edit: the deal still stinks of course [Post edited 13 Jun 2022 20:06]

Good point, I suppose even the 5 current contracted players would fetch more than enough to cover their fees but the ground etc is owned by Mel Morris not Derby County so I assume that's not included if they go to the wall?

That'll be the end of Rooney then. He's surprised me as a manager, deserves a decent chance somewhere. Also looks like Rosenior is getting the Blackpool gig.

So Ashley will be able to out gun Marcus Evans in a bidding war then?

I did read over the weekend that Quantama has not received any fees as of yet. However they are still doing their work so no doubt will be paid no matter what happens. Time is the key thing here with the Kirchener deal collapsing so near to the start of the season. Is there time left to find another preferred bidder, give them access to the "data room", pass the fitness test and conclude the deal? It's very much looking like the Derby County we know will cease to exist. Let alone be ready to start the season, 5 contracted senior players do they have academy players to fill a squad?

Is Evans bidding? Actually what happened with Huddersfield wasn't he supposed to be buying a chunk of them?

Could still be Marcus Evans couldn't it? Didn't Bury fans still claim there were still interested parties in buying them? Is the difference that they were already in season? I suppose that if it doesn't get sorted by the fixture release they can easily substitute Gillingham for Derby in League 1 and Oldham for Gillingham's in League 2. It does feel like Derby are being given many more chances than Bury were, though.

Gillingham would only have got a reprieve if Derby had collapsed before the final playoff. According to the EFL rules we'll be down a team in the Division if Derby aren't rescued.

Ah, so financially we all lose out with one slip date where a team doesn't play (including the final day of the season). All good then!

Which is what happened when Bury went out of business. Their first five fixtures were postponed before they were expelled leaving 23 teams in the division.

So, they could still give Derby at least 5 fixtures into the season as well as the previous missed deadlines. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see clubs go bust but what is the point of a deadline if it just leads to another new deadline?
