Must say. Slightly gutted for KVY.. but also not surprising we have gone for 2 new lwbs either.

Could we see KVY being worked on for another position or could it be the same route as penney really and could wee him moving on.

Isn’t he back up for Burns? If so, nothing has changed with Davis’ arrival.

Why does everyone keep pushing for KVY to play LWB?? He's incredibly right footed. You wouldn't play Aaron Cresswell at RWB, despite him being a quality footballer.

I think his future may well lie elsewhere.

Too good to simply sit on the bench every week.

I don't know why he's become associated with the left side either.

He was right back and only got drafted across through necessity.

Preferably back-up for his more natural side you'd hope, yes.

I did think that at first, But then we have Edwards for that potential back up role that side don't we?

Bloody good squad we've got with so many options.

I may may be wrong so if so, apologies. But as far as I remember KM has used KVY more on the left than on the right.

KVY is back up Burns… and may have a role given Burns’ form, Penney shipped on 20:40 - Jul 25 with 2853 viewsunstableblue

… as anyone can see Peney just does not cut it, defensively or attacking wise, as McKenna clearly agrees

It’s Leigh who I would feel sorry for… but I’m sure McKenna will do a good job in being clear to two both players they will have opportunity

Depends how KM wants to use him I guess.
Inside forward then yes left side.
A winger/wideman potentially right.

That's how I remember him playing. Loved watching him play but didn't have the end product at the time. Looking forward to seeing him again even if it might be the early cups.

Probably because we didn't have a great option there and KVY played their for col u. And I'm sure KM has used KVY left side rather than right when ever possible.

Pretty sure when he first played for us and looked an exciting prospect he was playing down the right.

He looked poorer for being switched as often is the case.

If I've got that wrong I'm sure someone will remind us but that's how I recall his early games.

Hardly surprising he didn't play much on the right though. Why would he have displaced Burns?

He played at Wimbledon in Jan (I'm guessing Thompson wasn't yet here), and I remember him coming on in one or two games on that side if we were chasing a game, but he'll never be considered a long term option there. It's just not natural to him.

Spot on.
I think KVY will get plenty of games whether from the bench or as a starter - also you wouldn't want to be relying on him week in week out given his injury record...hopefully that all changes

Right footed. Seems to suit playing on the left and cutting in though. That's where he played at Cheltenham when everyone started to take note.

KVY was here for quite some time before McKenna arrived and his was the right/wing -back spot until he got injured.

Sure, he's had to utilise him elsewhere but that isn't the point.

Tbh tho. I do remember kvy being used instead of penney for that left side. Hence the reason for my OP, I can't remember the last time KVY played on the right. Genuine open question to someone who knows the stats on this.

KVY came in as a RB and obviously hasn’t played there much since Burns came in. He played on the left a few times this season when Penney or coulson was injured. He played on the right a few times when Burns had that spell out

Bottom line is he’s more of a RB but can play at LB if needs be

Yes. And the strange thing is people are getting worked up about it on this thread, its not as if left side is alien to him so its hardly ridiculous. His stats were brilliant in his time on left side of the pitch too last season.

If he plays well when he gets his chance there’s always an opportunity, he’s got to take it with both hands when it arrives. Last season, he was underwhelming, but let’s hope he can get back to the player he was when we first signed him.

What’s more strange is you feel sorry for a RWB, who has managed 31 appearances in 3 seasons, mostly at RWB, and when he has actually played at LWB has looked very shaky.

We have signed a highly rated LWB, who could have a high ceiling. If anything KVY was 3rd choice after Leigh and Penney. Assuming Penney moves on, he will still be 3rd choice LWB.
