Man U did deserve the win IMO but if you look at this video at 1.57 he looks offside but a fair margin unless I am missing something.
The only thing that could be playing him onside is Gomez's head but even that looks doubtful. Great goal by Sancho BTW, he totally fooled Allison with that one touch.

You can have all the technology you like in the game, at the end of the day it comes down to human interpretation. VAR is killing the spontaneity of the game, in my humble opinion.

I agree that VAR is pretty useless but what amazes me is that they can't just have little cameras that run along the pitch in a straight line and it works like goal line technology. Also remember seeing sky freeze frame a mistake from De Gea like 2 seasons ago and they were able to computer generate a view from every angle. If this was accurate, why an earth don't officials use it?
First thing I thought was he looked offside. However that wasn't at the right angle.
We have to trust the technology. Having said that, I really wish they brought in this "clear and obvious errors". Things like that are not in my opinion.
Another good goal at the weekend was chalked off for their armpit being 1mm offside......(can't remember who it was now)
There was that digne handball too where he can't do much about it. In the air, his arms in a natural position for jumping and someone heads it on his arm from close range. I just don't get it. (I know in this case it's the rules as his arm wasn't by his side, but still, needs changing)

I don't mind what the outcome is, but when Palace had a goal ruled out on Saturday for something even closer, it's a bit of a joke.
Just give each team 3 challenges throughout a game, like tennis. If a challenge is used, the ref looks at the pitchside monitor. Do away with the idiots in the control room, give the referee and his linesmen some responsibility back, and let's get on with it.

Absolutely. We used to accept there would be occasional mistakes with marginal offside calls, although 90% of them were usually correct. Now, it seems that a marginal call takes ages to decide but the decision is still often akin to a toss of a coin. We also have linesmen now not flagging for clear offsides & they wait for VAR. WE would be better off scrapping VAR completely IMO. Even the decision to downgrade Trippier's red card on Sunday was dubious & I don't think VAR brings an overall benefit to the game.

It's beginning to remind me of the NFL where every touchdown is celebrated fully even if there's a flag on the play and it might not stand.

I think the camera angle wasn't great. They showed a replay from the Spider Cam later on and he looked more onside from that view.
I was at the game seated close to “in line” and I thought he was onside.
As for all the moaning, I approve of VAR. Since it was introduced it has corrected a lot of human errors and there have only been very rare VAR errors. One might dislike the process of VAR but that’s another debate
