I was thinking the same. It's such great play from Davis — looks simple but it's not, the first touch and burst of power to take him past his man are quite exceptional and the decision making with the cutback ice-cool. Outstanding demonstration of physicality, technique and composure.
Wonder if Davis is one we might rotate out against Cambs — he seemed to take a nasty knock not too long before that goal, we do need to be careful with him and KVY isn't a bad alternative for the first hour. Looks an exceptional player and has "£10m move to the Prem in 18 months' time" written all over him. [Post edited 2 Oct 2022 15:06]

Seems like it might be a bit of a signature move as Chaplin has scored a couple from similar position - ball it back from left side dead ball line towards the penalty spot for a left footer to crack it first time. |  |

Did anyone notice how many passes we strung together before that goal. It was at least 13. Westlake had just said we need to get the ball and string some passes together we will unlock them. Hey presto, we got the ball down. Played from one side of the pitch to the other quickly. Burst from defender then good wing play and quality goal. | | | |
