Thinking more about it, I don't see why most see it as a marketing ploy to sell more shirts.
The shirt isn't available to purchase, there's no date known for when it may be and if and when they do they'll have around 1500 available so not massive volume.
It's black history month. The club have been sending out many tweets in relation to it, I just feel this may just be something discussed to support the monthly activity and why not when it's on sky.

Maybe they have something being written up or maybe they thought it was obvious.
I dunno. Could obviously be just to sell more when available. But they've hardly had to do any marketing for it and it's sold well anyway.

It's quite clearly a marketing ploy.
I would prefer us to play in blue but we've been bitching for years about the club not making the most of its marketing opportunities. This game is a big game under the lights on tv and it will inevitably create some buzz.

It’s a purely commercial decision end of, lots of exposure on sky and all that.
A couple of things that sprung to mind on what we will do, will the names and numbers also be “blackout” like the Arsenal white kit they wore vs Forest in the cup last season?
I also assume the players will train in it at some point to become accustomed to it, the reason I say that is during the Pompey game I actually found it reasonably difficult to pick out their players when they were over by the Magnus stand from a low down position |  |
