Is he really the answer to our goal scorer needs? His assists stats are great, but in terms of goals scored he has less than Chaplin and only a couple more r than Ladapo and Harness. If its a goal scorer we're after I'm not sure he should be our number 1 target (and thankfully according to Phil and others with their ear to the ground he's not KM's top target.

I think we're getting all lathered up by him more because of the impact his leaving Plymouth might have on them rather than what he'd bring to us!

He is not an out an out striker, he is an attacking midfielder. He would be more valuable in creating chances than scoring goals, although would chip in with the latter.

(Potentially) weakening our rivals would only be a good thing. He's also only 21, so would be seen as an investment.

Just look at the goals he is scoring.

He is exceptional at finding the corners from distance, Chaplin is a very different type of goal scorer to Whittaker.

Im not that bothered if he comes or not, there will be other targets, but it would be a good signing and a big loss for plymouth.

We don't really need someone who can find the corners from distance though do we - we want someone to get on the end of the chances we create in the box!

I'm certainly not against him coming - i think he'd strengthen the squad overall. I just don;t think he'd be the answer to our need for goals that the narrative seems to suggest he would be.

Where McKenna seems to be thorough is making sure we have a bit of everything.

Physicality, technique and athleticism that we were sorely lacking was addressed. We went from being a joke at set pieces to being absolutely brilliant at them.

The priority is someone who can make space in the area, get on the end of things and score the type of goals that Bonne was converting in the first half of last season, being on the end of things.

However, look at the defence. You'd have said we cracked that with 9 clean sheets in 12 and the defence looking impenetrable and now look at it. So you could argue that we could solve the current issues, teams could react and then we'd be bemoaning the lack of players like Whittaker who will have a shot from range when we can't break through teams.

I think Whittaker has enough about him to be a really valuable addition but I just can't see it. Would love the ambition though if it did happen.

He's perhaps a replacement for Harness who's stopped scoring recently, if we think he's better and given his age and the fact he'll weaken a rival without giving them any money it seems a no brainer to me!

I think it would be Whittaker, plus a striker.

I think he’s seen more as a number 10. Similar games to goals ratio as Harness and Chaplin. I can’t see him being as much of a priority as a high calibre no 9 (albeit if we got Whittaker IN ADDITION what a statement that would be.

Wit Lapado being somewhat hit and miss with his finishing and no adequate backup surely an out and out striker has to be the priority acquisition? JCH from Peterborough, or Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers would be statement signings.

I think whoever we get we need them sooner rather than later - time is precious and we don't really want to be waiting until the end of Jan

Whittaker and Chaplin would clock up the numbers in those 10 positions. Aluko and Harness (recently) haven't really chipped in enough.

I feel mean saying it, but that's rather dramatic. At 21 years old, he's not had much of a career yet! I'm sure he loved his time there, but there's probably also an element of telling the Argyle fans what they want to hear.

Anyway, unless he's planning on sitting out the remainder of his contract with Swansea and then resigning for Plymouth and only Plymouth he'll have to get over it quickly.

Let's see what he lists as a career highlight should he lift the Championship trophy in a Town shirt

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."
