Can’t really see why their ‘goal’ was disallowed tbh.

That's what I thought, but then Warne is saying it's a foul on Walton or there's other suggestions that McGoldrick was offside.

Would love to know which one it was.

If you track their 15 on the run in and watch Burgess, as Burgess jumps the 15 runs in and pushes him in the back when he's in the air and unable to resist the push. Burgess would almost certainly have cut out the cross if he hadn't been deliberately flattened. The fella behind the 15 nods it in. Nothing to do with Walton, don't know why Warne thought that.

Edit: Also, you can tell from the reaction of 6 both as he runs off the pitch behind the goal-line checking to see if the ref has seen anything, and as he doesn't complain at all when he realises it's been ruled out. Neither does 34 either who was the third man in the ambush!

When the corner is taken McGoldrick is clearly obstructing Walton. Burgess lands in a heap and from the way he gets up is convinced he was fouled. Impossible to tell from the highlights shown. McGoldrick is clearly offside when the ball is headed and appears to put a foot on the ball as it goes in.

If there is footage of the linesman, it should be clear from the signal whether it was for the foul or an offside. The Burgess foul would have to have been given by the ref and the McGoldrick foul should be given before the ball goes in. The offside should only be given once the ball has gone in because McGoldrick would not have been interfering had he not touched it because by then he was no longer obstructing Walton.

Because apparently, in Warne's mind, the linesman apologised in the tunnel at half time for having got it wrong!

Two fabulous goals. Even Walton’s throw for the first goal is direct and inch-perfect. The whole team is in such good form.

The ref made the decision. He blew immediately and signalled it was a foul.

Which also fits very well with Warne's commentary of the linesman saying at half time that he had made a mistake.

Looked to me like McGoldrick was offside, and he was about 2 inches in front of Walton and seemed to try to play the ball.

Plus he was obstructing Walton when the corner was first taken and it seems the ref gave it for the foul on Burgess. Aside from all of those, it was unfortunate to have been ruled out. None of the Derby players appeared surprised it was ruled out either.

We are so quick on the break, both goals started in our box. 4-5 passes from back to front and in on goal, like a hot knife through butter.

Why would the linesman apologise at half time for something that didn't happen until the second half?
