Pleased to hear McKenna and Morsy keeping their feet on the ground and giving… 16:56 - Apr 6 with 2003 views | unstableblue | … Wycombe game the respect it deserves and to not even consider Cheltenham or the wider run in I’m super positive about Town but it’s gone a bit hysterical across the fan base and pod casts this week… KOA and BM really bigging up automatic We’re due a wobble in terms of performance, an off day, we’ve just got to stay humble, stay focussed, keep the energy, grind the result that day Hopefully revenge on Wycombe and an attempt to redress the poor Town performance at Adam’s Park. Come on you blues… but please stay frosty… 6 points this weekend… and we can go into goblin mode And come on Oxford and Morecambe… I don’t think our rivals can handle another blip… they may unwind. But doesn’t help us, unless we can keep our feet on the ground and grind out the wins!! [Post edited 6 Apr 2023 17:03]

I've just watch(ed)ing Darren Moore's press conference They've some serious injuries issues bless 'em Was questioned about playing Stockdale in goal after recent "poor performances" .Long story short I'd want a little better backing than what he received in the press conference from Moore Seemingly trouble up Norf innit

Their fans have been bemoaning the high wage, higher age strategy, for weeks They’re bound to get injuries and to be tiring Whereas the likes of Clarke and Hirst look like they’re just getting into gear… even our ageing a Luongo looks fresh

Good to hear but they’re still in a very good position. 7/8 cup finals left innit. Heart attacks coming. Sleepless nights. Hours spent on other forums and calculating what-if scenarios. Rearranging work meetings to watch on iFollow. Consoling yourself that if we don’t go up it will still be okay. Football, bloody hell.

We are playing great and look polished and professional. A great time for the club. Squad is brimming with talent. However, we remain 3rd in a very even 4 horse race. [Post edited 6 Apr 2023 17:24]

If we don’t go up, it will most certainly still be OK as I think McKenna is completely committed to winning promotion for this team. We’ll have the excitement of the play-offs and a 90+ points season. But we all want promotion. I think if we can claim 6 points and Sheff Weds drop 2 or 3 points, then we’ll start to get a strong position, able to handle a loss or a couple of draws in the run-in. Owls fans seem disappointed it’s on Sky tomorrow!!

It may even be tomorrow and that wouldn't be terminal. We're not about to win another eight straight games. Nine points from the next four would put us in an excellent position for the final stretch, probably in the top two. Anything more and we'll start to look very close to the finish line.

I agree with the sentiment but it's bloody hard not to get carried away isn't it? The way we are playing it's hard to see us dropping points at the moment. We now have 4 games on the spin that you'd have us as huge favourites for (3 of them at home as well).

Wycombe are also in a battle royale with 4 teams… Bolton, derby, Wycombe and Pompey For the last two play-off places A win and they could well get into a play-off place Thinking they are going to roll over and let us steam roll is a little too optimistic They also can do the double on us!!

Pleased to hear McKenna and Morsy keeping their feet on the ground and giving… on 19:45 - Apr 6 with 1430 views | BigCommon | I agree that we should just keep things in perspective atm.. We're third in the league, until the table says differently. But I disagree that we are due a wobble. Unless you are just basing that comment on law of averages? It's not as if we're relying on one or two star players, that could get injured or lose form, as in SW case. And it's not as if we 've been lucky in any of our last 7 wins on the trot. And defied the match stats to get the win. We could easily drop points in the remaining games. But imo, there are no signs that point to us being "due" a wobble..... Personally don't think we've got into top gear yet.Simply because we haven't needed to...Both Derby and Bolton were flat out against us and hardly scratched us. Those games felt a bit squeaky in real time. But when you look back at them.We were comfortable.

They aren't going to roll over but they aren't particularly good (especially since Ainsworth left) and have a few injuries. It's a far easier game than Bolton or Derby away and we've been imperious at home.
Pleased to hear McKenna and Morsy keeping their feet on the ground and giving… on 22:30 - Apr 6 with 1154 views | Guthrum | As with The Boy Blue's thread above, I would question whether a wobble is 'due'. I don't see why the team can't keep up the same level of performance for the next few games, even to the end of the season. When Town are operating at close to peak, there aren't many in the division who can live with us. I wouldn't say there is anywhere obvious that the dropped points are coming from. Even when stymied by defence, we have players like Morsy who can drive through and force a goal. Derby showed we can play on the break if so minded. Town have so many ways to win games now. As I also said in that thread, it's not impossible that there will be a slip-up some time in the next eight (or just points dropped to a very strong rival like Barnsley). But it is by no means inevitable.

When town are in fourth gear nobody can compete with us in this league.

Pleased to hear McKenna and Morsy keeping their feet on the ground and giving… on 07:11 - Apr 7 with 820 views | Churchman | I think it’s ok to go a bit OTT with what’s been happening. Winning week in week out like that, the way the club is heading doesn’t happen every day. Things have been so depressing for so many years and younger people have never seen this club with seriously good, attractive to watch team. Hopefully, when we drop points I hope people don’t go too far the other way (me included) and focus on where the club is heading - upwards. Much as we can dream winning all eight games its very unlikely. Form, injuries, refs, the opposition will see to that. But given play offs looked a bit of a scramble mid Feb, to get to the point of being in with a real chance of top two at Easter is some going. We are still third, our run in is tougher, four teams in the mix so as a pessimist, play offs are the most likely outcome. But the cliche of a game at a time applies. Heck, we are good enough so who knows.

A lot of the tension is going to be dictated not by our own form but that of our rivals. If Plymouth carry on winning and SheffWed can get back on track (not to mention Barnsley continuing to pick up points), then that will put the pressure back on us to keep up the pace as the window for overtaking one or both of the top two gets narrower. However, if we can burst into the automatics soon (maybe even this weekend), then that will be a massive boost.
