Pre-window signings 21:13 - May 31 with 3276 views | EssexBloo | Seen quite a few signings already, a couple from that lot up the road. Is this normal that there are so many deals being done before the window actually opens?

Pre-window signings on 22:38 - May 31 with 2806 views | gosblue | As I understand it, you can only sign out of contract players before the window. I think most contracts run until the end of June. The uk window opens around 14th June so we can relax until then. Deals will be done before then but any decent business won’t want to pay wages until they have to. We were lucky in January that we got our 1st choice targets but those deals had already been done well before we got to know about them. Rest assured, the way this club does it’s business, if we’re hearing rumours and links this early, they are probably well wide of the mark.

Yes, experience of the last couple of transfer windows is a good indicator of how our people do business. By and large the first you see of it is the ready smile, the shirt, scarf and mumbling about the new challenge and great club. Ashton made it clear that it was not in the clubs interest for information to be leaked from the club and I understand why. It is in the interest of agents and clubs wanting to offload their deadwood to use mainstream and social media but not necessarily us. In conclusion, any name being chucked out there: best ignored.Carlton Palmer? How on earth has he suddenly emerged as a guru all of a sudden? Best ignored. Twitter rumours etc: ignore. Boring? Yes. But a heck of a lot better than the shambolic nonsense of old.
Pre-window signings on 23:22 - May 31 with 2634 views | jayessess | What we call the "transfer window" is actually just the period that FIFA allows players to register with a new club. You can agree a transfer fee and a contract with a player any time you like, can't you?

Pre-window signings on 07:31 - Jun 1 with 2385 views | textbackup | Scummer on Twitter seems to think we’ve gone really quiet since the end of season, add to that they signed three players, we are now running scared. Weird lot

They way they played at the end of the season, only another eight to go then.
Pre-window signings on 08:22 - Jun 1 with 2125 views | PioneerBlue | All the people that matter are on holiday or busy. Players managed an early break, those that had playoffs now having a break. International round of games now coming up. Coupled with that, it’s been half term and any players, coaches, club management, agents with children have probably had some down time ahead of busy summer. Clubs still waiting on understanding what is happening g to those that they’ve offered extended terms to (ie 1 year left) plus whether those retained will sign (Eg Luongo, Aluko types). Our preseason probably doesn’t even start for 3-4 weeks, registration window is 2 weeks from reopening. There is no rush! This stuff gets done.

“ It may well be that right-back Janoi Donacien could be part of the deal having spent the second half of last season on loan at Highbury. Town recently took up a year's option on the former Accrington man's contract largely in order to secure either a fee or use him as a bargaining chip in swap deals.” Poor old Janoi. Same was said about his latest contract extension. He’s a real survivor and doesn’t let any of this affect his game.

Pre-window signings on 10:28 - Jun 1 with 1648 views | FevsBCFC | There have been 5 transfers inbound so far for next season’s Championship clubs. I suppose “quite a few” is 3 or more…but it really is nothing abnormal.
Pre-window signings on 10:56 - Jun 1 with 1562 views | BigCommon | Free agents getting snapped up. Most probably just those that don't have many suitors... From memory, last season, Ladapo, Greg Leigh and Dom Ball all arrived here very early. All of them free transfers. Have to say, Freddie was a steal on a free transfer. Probably runs Leif Davis close, for our best bit of business last Summer imo. If this Summers targets are a bit more up market. I'd expect one or two deals to be a bit drawn out. I hope not, but Im preparing for " the twitches " as the window moves on. Be nice to hear if Luongo or Aluko have agreed to stay on.
