Just seen a few more prem players looking to make the move..

Be interesting if this becomes a long term thing or a few seasons before dieing off.

They don't understand football, countries like Saudi never really drill into the reservoir of supporters.

The lack of continental competition is what kills them I think. Saudi, China and Qatar have all had a go at attracting European talents but they’ve tended to invest at different times. If they were all going for it at once their leagues might get a bit more traction.

Wouldn’t surprise me massively to see a Saudi team playing UEFA Champions League games in the next decade.

Not a chance of it taking off. Money can buy most things but not everything.

Could be more than a flash in the pan with the near-bottomless pit of money at their disposal. I suppose it depends on how dedicated they are to sportswashing.

But to be fair...if they bag Messi as well as Ronaldo? That completely clears out any other countries' attempt at this. China especially, I can only seem to remember Oscar, Lavezzi and a few others going there.

Obvs won't be able to compete with Europe still, but it's a sad day for football.

Drogba went there straight after his first Chelsea spell. And Hulk, Fellaini, Tevez, Hamsik. But I'm not disagreeing as a generality.

Teams from Israel already do, so not such a huge leap... Especially where oceans of wonga are available from salaries to sweeteners.

Maybe it’ll merge with the Prem League in a year or two.

Agree.

There were rumours of inviting Argentina to the Euros a while back. I'm sure UEFA (and FIFA if necessary) would sell anything football has to offer for the right price.
