They would have had one if we *allegedly* hadn't made Swansea recall him. If we are being honest, a 20 a season striker isn't important if you've goals coming from throughout the team, but very few teams can achieve that. [Post edited 28 Jun 2023 9:06]

However, the fact is, if you are struggling to convert chances, you struggle to win games. We had a period during last season where we created good quality scoring chances but failed to take advantage of that. A good goal scorer is worth their salt, especially if you, like we ended up doing, finding others that chipped in with a few as well. Obviously last year, others did more than 'chip in'!

Burnley (Championship) Plymouth (League 1) Leyton Orient (League 2) None had a 20 goal a season. Burnley had 17. I think we've already got a 20 goal a season attacking player in the squad in Chappers. Good finishers score goals, I can't see any reason why he won't step up again. We do need a forward though, but it's not new news. There's no way we won't bring someone in. [Post edited 28 Jun 2023 9:30]

Burton Albion won the League Two title in 2014/15 with their top scorer Lucas Akins only getting nine.

Leyton orient won the league last year... on 16:09 - Jun 28 with 1090 views | gainsboroughblue | Probably more common place at the lower levels as more loan players are in and out, more short term deals etc. You could easily have a situation where one player scores 10 goals between Aug-Nov then another between Nov-Feb etc.

Leyton orient won the league last year... on 17:06 - Jun 28 with 1023 views | Swansea_Blue | To win the league and have a top scorer on 10 must be pretty exceptional. Of course teams don’t need a 20 goal striker though. As Chelters says, as long as sufficient goals come from somewhere it doesn’t really matter where.
