Before the game tonight I thought, even if we lose this 00:33 - Sep 20 with 2229 views | The_Flashing_Smile | the performance will tell me if we'll be there or thereabouts. I actually thought, "Play half decent and I'll be happy with that, because we're so consistent in what we do we'll definitely pick up plenty of points if we can show it yet again, regardless of the actual result." Well blow me down with a feather.

Ha, yeah. We'll lose some games, it's just football, but you just feel the way we play will yield lots of points just because we're so well organised/drilled in patterns of play, and the step up doesn't seem to affect that. You can't see this team going on a poor run because while it's possible to lose one now and again, playing this way it's just not possible for the wheels to fall off. It feels like playing a football computer game, where you've played it long enough that you've worked out certain moves that are more often than not successful, so you just keep doing that!

Similar on 13:10 - Sep 20 with 1819 views | Dyland | After we went ahead I was thinking any result (except being thrashed) wouldn't dishearten me. Simply because we looked like we belonged on the same pitch as a supposedly high quality opposition. We've not looked out of our depth for one minute this season, which is cause for cautious (or rather over the top) optimism :)

If I was playing Football Manager and Town turned up at Bolton, then Derby, then Posh, then Barnsley in big matches and then Sunderland and QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton a level above and won the lot, all away from home, I'd quit. If I hadn't lost by more than a goal in 73 matches, went 19 games unbeaten, kept 8 clean sheets in a row, won 4-0 or 6-0 every week, broke the club record longest unbeaten away run or equalled the clubs overall unbeaten record then I'd moan about how easy it was, how stupid the game was and I'd try my luck at Tonbridge Wells or Hemel Hempstead in the Conference South. It's just absolutely silly now. This is a team that, less than 2 years ago, couldn't string a pass together at Charlton or League Two Barrow and now we just rock up everywhere and win. It can't last forever but my god is it incredible to be living this right now.

Before the game tonight I thought, even if we lose this on 13:55 - Sep 20 with 1712 views | itfcsuth | We are definitely there or thereabouts. We are such a slick machine, well coached, repetition, consistency, drilled & an incredible level of bravery in and out of possession which allows us to play in such a way that we do. Right now we have all the elements you need to be a successful. Its just about sustaining the intensity throughout a long season where the standard is far greater than L1.
Before the game tonight I thought, even if we lose this on 14:08 - Sep 20 with 1659 views | Churchman | Before last Saturday I thought if we took four points from SW, Saints and Blackburn that’d be ok, following the excellent first five games and the International break. Here we are with six points from the two away games, one of which I didn’t like the look of at all (Southampton), and we’ve still got B’burn to come! Add two more clean sheets with reserve goalie and a centre half who some thought should have been binned before a ball was kicked this season and the team’s best player missing last night and it’s been some start to the season. Well done to all the players, KM and his staff.

Good point about bravery. Added to that, we look so calm in possession, across the pitch.

Safe to say I don't think there's anyone who thought we'd have done what we have so far. Plus the fact that we could have beaten Leeds if it wasn't for an off night individually and even then we weren't outplayed.

I think there are key people in the side who's bravery and patience in possession are so crucial to our play. Hladky (& Walton), Woolfenden, Burgess & probably the best two at it are Morsy and Luongo. Morsy & Luongo look to be instructed to be brave in possession, be patient on the ball and not force things - they are so good a ball retention and controlling the flow of our game that it rarely gets punished by them giving the ball away.

I hadn't seen that 'not lost by more than a goal in 73 matches' stat. That's incredible.

They're both sort of solid, low centre of gravity players who can turn in tight circles and keep the ball close, shield it, and be a bit nasty with anyone who gets too close. Like terriers.
