Not even just the luck of the ball not going over the linemm but also the luck of the bounce off the Bristol player after Williams clears it..

Davis getting robbed there; apart from his debut that might be the only mistake he’s made for us, such is his quality.

Count yourselves lucky.

Those watching at home had collective heart attacks.

I was sitting directly along that goal line and had a good perception of where all the players were so once it bounced off the post I was comfortable Williams would clear, but the risk was some back spin on the ball….

Anyway, doesn’t matter as we’d have gone and scored one more than them anyway

Nonetheless I think Davis owes Williams a beer!

He was brilliant again last night (that mistake apart).

He must be horrible to play against, was frequently the wrong side of their right back and delivering into the box.

Nearly scored as well with a well placed effort.

Davis and Williams are as good a pair of fullbacks we've had in literally decades. We've had a couple of good left backs in Cressy and Mings. Chambers was solid at right back for a long time, and Clarke showed his offensive threat without ever looking great defensively (IMO), but it's been ages since we've had a pairing I've liked as much as these 2. Serious quality.

Indeed, and Williams loves getting stuck in as well. Love his determination. He'd push his granny out of the way to keep a clean sheet.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Would have felt terribly unlucky had it gone in off Hladky's back.

And there was nothing unlucky about Williams getting there first and clearing it, that's total commitment.

So the verdict from Sentence Manor is that this was actually no more lucky than Morsey hitting the post.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

I often had to push my granny away to keep a clean sheet. She was incontinent.
