edit.
Yaxley-Lennon, I assume.

Amusing to see how many supporters of Yaxley-Lennon are pissing themselves over this and calling the police fascists when they are big fans of someone who is pretty fascist adjacent in their own views. The idea that Yaxley-Lennon is a journalist reporting on the event doesn't stand up to much scrutiny. A grifter with a camera phone is not a journalist.

A camera phone and a couple of big lumps to protect him

Am I wrong to ask why there are so many Israel flags at a march against antisemitism in London? Given the current situation, I don't see the need.
You're not wrong.
But it's complicated by what people like to call the "new antisemitism" which is criticism of Israel. That's predominantly why the Campaign Against Antisemitism was set up in 2014 to deflect criticism from the last big Gaza conflict.
I won't say every Israeli flag-waver sees criticism of Israel as antisemitic in itself. I'm sure many are showing solidarity with the Israeli people. As we all should.

Come off it, you completely understand why people are holding Israel flags.
Israel was recently the victim of a large anti semitic terror attack.
I see where you are trying to go with this, but don't. And before you say it no I do not support Israel's bombing campaign.
Quite. I’d have thought that was obvious, but apparently it’s not. It was the worst antisemitic attack since WWII. I’m surprised there haven’t been more flags.
I don’t think showing the Israeli flag implies agreement with Netanyahu’s government. There’ll be many Israelis who say ‘not in my name’. It’s no different than waving a Palestinian flag doesn’t mean implicit support of Hamas.

...Although rabid right wingers like nothing better than appropriating their national flag.

The march was supposed to be in protest against antisemitism in Britain. The Jewish community rightly complain that they are not responsible for the actions of Israel. So my point is, why so many Israeli flags at a protest against antisemitism in Britain, given the current situation? It seems inflammatory to me. The Palestinian flags at marches are in support of the Palestinian people, as are the marches themselves. Hamas flags are rightly called out as abhorrent.

Isn’t it obvious? There was a heinous attack on Israel not long ago and it’s a kind of important place to Jews.

Not obvious to me. I thought the march was by a group that are trying to distance themselves from the actions of The State of Israel.
Just as the majority of Palestinian supporters are distancing themselves from Hamas.
There is nothing unusual about British Jews protesting against anti Jewish hatred, some of which manifested itself on the 7th October in the world's only Jewish state.
People can stand by Israel without supporting Netanyahu or the indiscriminate bombing of innocent civilians.

Sorry Noggers, but I still don’t see it. They’re campaigning against antisemitism, which continues to be a thorn in the side of the people of Israel. I don’t think that prevents justifiable criticism of the current Israeli government. But the government aren’t the people.
