I think the real story is when we no longer had a striker that could operate like Hirst or Moore, the table looked like this...

This is a great stat - points since Moore's full debut on 14:23 - Mar 29 with 1399 views | Nthsuffolkblue | His debut pulled 2 goals back from 3-0 down. His full debut we drew 2-2. Since then, the only points we have dropped have been Cardiff where we were 1-0 up when he went off. He will be a big miss if he doesn't play at all. I am confident Al Hamadi can give us a very good option but Moore is better than this level and we have done very well to get him.

You can't even say as an individual Moore has been that impressive in every game. BUT he has moments which are simply game changing but also he is on defenders thoughts all the time he's on the pitch which opens things up for others. I think we might still see him start today. A tired moore is still more effective imo than a Al hamadi etc at present for the reasons I mention above.

Why I'm slightly worried about today, considering Moore played 120 minutes on Tuesday and was blowing by the end.

Your first paragraph is a comprehensive disproval your first 12 words. I suspect he won't start today because Tuesday will have taken a lot out of him and we have a lot of games coming up. I would rather start with Al Hamadi with a clear plan of how long we would ideally give Moore off the bench and see whether we can afford him more rest than that in an ideal scenario.

You simply needed to remove or reword the inaccurate first 12 words. Instead of "You can't even say as an individual Moore has been that impressive in every game. BUT he has moments which are simply game changing but also he is on defenders thoughts all the time he's on the pitch which opens things up for others." try: Moore has been very impressive in every game. I'll defend Frimmers to an extent here. I don't think Moore has been impressive every game. But he is key to how we play.

How can he be key and not impressive when we have won all bar one of those matches? It is like saying Morsy is ordinary because he has far fewer goal involvements than Adam Armstrong. To say it would simply demonstrate a lack of understanding of the role played.

I’m guessing he’ll get 25+5 off the bench, if we need. [Post edited 29 Mar 2024 15:27]

Indeed, we played Hirst until the wheels fell off. No striker can play that many minutes. Time for Al Ham to step up today, and save Moore for the tougher S'ton game Monday.

NthSuffolkblue has a good point. Defenders are so busy worrying about Moore, it creates chances for other players. Either way, it creates goals. He is a great player, either they freeze him out and we win because they are distracted or they don't and we win. Moore the big fella FTW

Bit unfair though due to quality of teams we played and amount of other injuries/suspensions we had but he has looked quality for us.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest you were judging Hirst. Moore has been pivotal to our change in form, allowing the 10s to flourish again.

Unfair to who? Think it is complementary to Hirst and Moore. I don't think any of the players would be offended to hear they don't have the same hold up play or presence to bring in the 10s. 2 points from QPR, Stoke, and Preston in those six games. So it wasn't down to opposition quality at that stage. We'd already lost 4-0 to Leeds for example.
