What's everyone's feelings about Moore starting then? 09:55 - Apr 6 with 1969 viewsITFCBlues

I think he will start and play the first 55-60 mins. He's had 4 days since the saints game now, they'll know this is a massive game and probably the hardest of our final 6 games that we have remaining.

He's crucial to how we play and also crucial for defending set pieces, an area where Norwich are strong.

Vital he plays & I'm sure that he will.

If he's remotely got a chance to play, it's always better to start him and take off early, than to leave him on the bench hoping he can make an impact(when he might not be able to) - so I would expect that is what happens.

I'd have to say no, but KMc might have been playing mind games perhaps.

Burns and Moore to start, Hirst on the bench would be hilarious.

I think he'll be on the bench with the hope of not using him. We've got two more games in close succession and we need to be careful not to lose him for 3 games

Unless he’s at least 90% fit I don’t think he will play. We talk about 1 game at a time and with 5 more games after this, Mckenna won’t be pushed into playing him and risking him being out all year

Absolutely, McKenna has to consider the bigger picture. I would plan on resting him unless we are chasing the game in the last 30 minutes. He probably shouldn't have started after 120 minutes for Wales before the Blackburn game. Moore has a great attitude in that he wants to play every match, but the manager has to sometimes tell him no he can't play based on Moore's physical condition and the physical demands of the remainder of the season.

I guess it depends how sincere KM was in his presser this week. Was he really that badly injured?

I'm quite disappointed that we have not made an emergency signing of Danny Haynes for this game...

I think him starting after the Wales result and ET is a good indication that we'll throw him in whenever he thinks he's able.

With a back spasm caused by a hit like that, presumably they're just managing inflammation rather than a muscle injury where a tear could worsen. If he thinks the pain is manageable, I think we'll chuck him on from the start and see how he goes.

If you bring him on as a sub to change the game and he breaks down in the first 5 mins you're very short of options.

I guess there is a Bournemouth element to this though, if their player has a difficult to assess injury they will not want the risk of further damage in a game that a player out on loan could play (and bear in mind the Old Farm won't mean the same on the South coast.)

True, but if the player declares themselves fit to play I'm not sure on what basis they could do that. They're unlikely to send a doctor to verify his treatment has been successful, especially for something that's effectively a knock. Maybe look at the treatment plan, talk to the player.

Again I don't know what the risk of further damage is, but you'd assume low for something like this?

If KO'M is not fit to start or bench I wonder if we might see Gerrard Buabo in the squad.

I don't think that Bournemouth have any say in the situation. We're paying his wages currently, not them.

I'm sure he will want to play and if he does, it'll be because he's ready

He’s not even been in the U21s, another forumite said the other day when I mentioned Buabo’s absence from the bench in previous 2 matches - presumably a setback in his recovery, unfortunately.

The crucial thing here is that none of us mere mortals know what the actual state of his back is like, or how he’s feeling!

I think it could happen.
Bit of pace against slow cbs. Get them facing their own goal with direct balls diag out wide or for Jackson to run into.

Then a bit of Al hamadi directness 2nd half against tired legs.

Think moore actually plays into their defenders hands a bit tbh.

They certainly used too...

They'll obviously know if it'll do more harm though, I'd hate him to start and have to come off during the first half though, the bigger picture is our remaining games, dare I even mention possible play offs too..
