I always find these stories amazing.
How on earth do you get eaten whole by a snake?!?

Without being too gross, I wonder how long it would take to digest a human?

What happens to the bones? Are they crushed or would the snake cr@p out an intact human skull

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

I guess the fact these are such massive apex predators in dense jungle where nothing hunts them. I’m guessing a small woman is a similar size to the largest prey they’ll eat.

Was just reading the story and she’s not the first. I always assumed these were urban myths but perhaps the spread of humans into their habitat makes it a real danger.

Horrible way to go too.

Python has always been a good handler of big data, now we know why given the size of their stomachs

Pythons are constrictors, once they wrap themselves around you that's it!

How wide their mouth ligaments can stretch is incredible.

This is reassuring :

"When it comes to eating humans, "the restricting factor is human shoulder blades because they are not collapsible," Mary-Ruth Low, conservation & research officer for Wildlife Reserves Singapore and a reticulated python expert, told the BBC in an earlier interview."

Another option would be when visiting the forest, do so in the nip, coated in vaseline. That would foil their dastardly plans!

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

They wouldn't mean to eat you alive lol. Anchor with unsuspecting strike, ideally near head, loop around, squeeze, stop blood supply, dead. The biggest ones are too powerful to untangle on your own and they will dissolve bones no problem, but the shoulder point's already been raised and so only the whoppers would successfully swallow a not-too-broad human. They would check on your welfare before beginning the swallow, maybe a month to fully digest, but it's the clothes that have the potential to avenge the human from the grave.
