Maybe the players have been pushed harder in the training?
Was it really ever going to be 2 senior sides in two games in two days!? Doubt it.
They could’ve easily mixed them up, like they did last year v Cambridge and Stevenage but I reckon they want the main squad to be together and to get as many minutes as poss in one game. |  |

Can't imagine Mönchengladbach are particularly chuffed about our decision either.
Suspect that, given the lack of movement on incoming transfers in the last couple of weeks and injuries to various players, we've realised we need to stick a 'proper' XI out there for a bit of practice and didn't want to leave it until the Nice match.

Almost like pre-season games are for the benefit of the teams and what is required. Pre season games often have late changes.
I personally don’t get the clamour to see a pre-season friendly, they’ve never appealed to me. Whether or not I was going if the club feel the benefit for them is to play the U21s then that’s all that matters. |  |

Friendly results don't matter
Performances in them doesn't really matter as usually alot of subs made.
Getting out of them what you want does matter
The fact KM arranged a certain schedule and that schedule has been altered in all 3 games so far it isn't great. No need to see this as Mr doom. It's just discussing the situation for what it is.
We know there's injuries. Can't be helped.
KM himself has stated he needs more signings. They aren't really coming at any speed.
It's a bit of a sht show in the fact that his pre season plans do seem very disturbed and not what he would have wanted or expected.
On the supporter side. I think the club could have potentially offered those who have travelled something or even mentioned them in the announcement. At the end of the day it was advertised as two senior games with tickets available. People have spent money to travel. Now I appreciate games do get postponed so its not unusual however they would normally get a mention, I just find the announcement a tad cold in the club just saying its now an u21 game.
Also. When was the last time a game was changed 24 hours before being played from senior to u21... must say I've not seen that before. [Post edited 1 Aug 2024 22:22]
