Time to set Blackburn a deadline. 16:25 - Aug 3 with 2492 viewsPinewoodblue

Offer withdrawn if not accepted in next 24 hours.

We could perhaps then turn outright attention on Whittaker at Plymouth.

We are showing for too much patience.

2023 year of destiny

Someone call Mark Ashton, quick. Pinewoodblue has run out of patience and we need to move on from a player McKenna wants to sign. #inpinewoodwetrust

It sounds like Blackburn have set a deadline themselves, of the end of the weekend, going off Eustace's interview yesterday.

We clearly want him and have put in a suitable offer... Blackburn are playing hardball over their best player, which you'd hope we'd do, if the shoe was on the other foot!

Saying that, 20 million is absolutely pie in the sky from Blackburn... We won't be paying anywhere close to that... I'm guessing if we want him we will get him...

Relax. We have a limited budget and quite a new additions needed. We cannot be seen to just give in to demands.

We would likely give him a three or four year deal. A couple of weeks is not going to make a difference.

Truly impaired.

Reading what McKenna has to say , we have other targets , if one of those gets done first we will pull out of the deal and Blackburn will lose the money that’s on the table that they so badly need and have a very unhappy player who won’t want to play for them.
Big gamble for them.

Keep getting the other deals done and SS will take care of itself ,

Or some should show more patience. Depends which side you are coming from I suppose.

It's annoying but does it matter all that much if we sign him tomorrow or next Wednesday?

If we don't know what he's going to offer us and how to use him then we shouldn't have bothered in the first place.

Works both ways, they could easily set ua a deadline and refuse to entertain any further conversation if we don’t meet what they are looking for.

No, it doesn’t.

As a sort of black or white, do or don’t kind of person I’d be a totally useless negotiator. Sort of take it or leave it and you’ve 48 hours to decide or we move on. The player wants to play PL and join us so good luck explaining why at nearly 29 years old his dream and pay rise went down the pan if you don’t accept. Toodeloo.

Back on earth, I don’t know much about Blackburn other than they struggled back end of last season and kicked out Tony Mowbray a few years ago. I did read their owners bought them in 2010 and are worth £1.6bn so presumably as a rich club they can afford to play hard ball?
