no news is censored news on 08:54 - Sep 21 with 2770 views | franz_tyson | I dunno. I just wonder if it's better just to let things go without censoring. Do we really think our Premier League opponents are tuned in to this forum and will make tactical or formation changes based on what apparently In The Knowers provide us with. If they genuinely believe some wild rumours that are probably b#llocks and they make changes based on that - then I think they're mad. In some ways, TWTD censoring stuff just adds to the authenticity of the rumours ie I didn't really believe these rumours until TWTD started censoring. Once you start - where does it end?

Perhaps Phil just doesn't want potentially libellous speculation about the whole incident with [redacted] doing [redacted] with [redacted] and the [readcted] at [redacted] which could land him in trouble?

In a season where we need to make the best of the advantages we have (KMc, crowd, team spirit etc.) against billionaire opponents, every little 'marginal gain' is important to us. If there's any potential gain from avoiding what may or may not be a genuine leak, then that's infinitely more important to the club (including all of us fans) than the fragile sensibilities of individuals who either want to feel important by looking ITK or feel left out if they're not given everything they feel they should be given. Demanding that unhelpful info is leaked is the antithesis of what the club is about in my opinion.

Been waiting for The Ministry of Truth to start since 1984. I think we've all looked upon (and wanted) Phil as our Big Brother for some time and now it has finally arrived.

Poor old Lambo. He was trying to teach us this years ago - but you sided with the People's Favourite, Phil Ham, when he got banned for leaking team news. Here's the thing if people truly believe this makes a difference. We could use this site to put out false information to bamboozle opponent's spies. Isn't that a potential gain? Do we actually have our own Forum spies ourselves who supply Kieran with info? I think we're giving ourselves too much credit. I'd love the idea of someone supplying Russell Martin with pages and pages of TWTD print outs. "Heres Frimmers' latest, Gaff"

Fake leaks is an potential benefit of course, but if both the club and Phil don't want this happening, I think any fan who goes against that is a bit of a selfish tvvat, personally.

TWTD needs access so it's always going to tow the corporate line, to an extent. TWTD is not and never has been an investigative/gossipy/satirical/whatever else you want it to be fanzine. It's straight up news and ITFC related stories and interviews. It is what it is no more and no less. A tiny minority of posters have complained about this in recent years and it's silly. If you don't like it you can sod off somewhere else and make up some gossip on X or Telegram or wherever!

If its just straight up ITFC stories and interviews - how are you able to write your comments? That's because it's a forum - not just articles. Not sure your point. This isn't the EADT. Most of us come straight to the forum and dont read a lot of the articles ie don't care about Woody Williamson going to Chelmsford. Just feel this is being handled like a sledgehammer cracking a nut. You'll get the naughty boy, but also take out a lot more innocents.
no news is censored news on 11:06 - Sep 21 with 2028 views | Rsj13 | There would have been a confidentiality / contract breach somewhere. I don't think there's an argument that news should be censored. It's what gets to "the news" in the first place. By that logic, insider trading etc would be legal....

They want access so have to tow the party line, to an extent. That includes banning posters who leak information sensitive in the club's or TWTD's eyes. Whether you agree or like that is immaterial. TWTD can be more successful (i.e. make more money) this way than it can by letting posters leak what they like, post continuous negative stuff, write gossipy articles, etc. In their eyes, and it's that's the only opinion that matters. It is what it is and people being critical of TWTD being what it is have a simple choice. But hey, instead of finding other sources or even having a go at it ourselves, let's all criticise news and media outlets cos they aren't what we want them to be or they don't operate how we want them to, because we are spoiuled brats who can only complain about stuff that often we know fook all about. It's a public forum but a private company and they can ban who they like for whatever reason they like. The end. EDIT: I'm in thread mode btw and hadn't read the other comments before replying directly to Beaters, and my general point about how TWTD is run isn't aimed at you :) [Post edited 21 Sep 2024 11:47]

Lambert didnt need to educate anyone. Everyone knew it was wrong at that time. People took issue with Lambert banning Phil for something he didn’t personally do.

We've literally just shot ourselves in the foot... .... or either way..... it doesn't really matter.
