What did they have to say about us in the 'analysis'?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That KMcK was wrong about West Ham being direct (which they wilfully misinterpreted) and that WH were quite good - that was about it - but you weren't expecting analysis, were you

Not really all that much really. They disagreed with KM thoughts that West Ham played a lot of direct passes - said that WH played some good stuff but that we defended really badly.

From the comments below they said nothing about us, talked about WHU.

Let me guess. They thought direct meant hoof ball. And were trying to show that they didn't hoof it.

Shearer checked his notes as wasn't sure who we were and then looked wor as he said "aye it gonna be tough for them, really tough"

Lineker giggled.

They showed examples of how they weren’t direct once they were 3/4-1 up but McKenna actually said they were more direct up until that point post match so it was misinterpreted by Shearer.

“There were some errors in there,” he continued. “I think West Ham played differently to anyone we’ve played so far, they were very, very direct.

“I think that was what we struggled with really, they were really direct to [Michail] Antonio, he did a fantastic job with the aerial stuff and bringing people into play.

“They went direct to [Tomas] Soucek, probably did better than us on the second balls and it was really those moments that we struggled to deal with the most.

“It was different when the game went to 3-1 and 4-1, then they started to show their individual quality and there were some passages of play but in general the first 60 minutes of the game, it was the direct play we didn’t deal with well enough.

I wonder who has the biggest managerial brain out of KM and Shearer?

As a match day viewer on Saturday sitters. What was our downfall?

I felt first half we competed absolutely fine, and that it just needed a HT chat

Well that was dreadful by SitfcB 5 Oct 2024 19:30
Thing is we probably weren’t that bad in retrospect but the mistakes all led to goals which is the most annoying and obvious thing.

To concede after 40 seconds from giving the ball away after OUR KO is horrific 😂

But we do well to get back in not long after and play ok up until 7 mins before HT and concede just before the break after a crazy spell. Muric got lucky with the missed header and was probably still thinking about that when he went short to Morsy - big let off again with O’Shea clearing off the line only to concede not long after.

Need to be going into the break at 1-1!

Conceding just before and after HT was absolutely criminal.

The less said about the pass back to Muric the better. Horrible.

Had a little spell when Delap had his header and really had to capitalise on that to get it to 3-2 but the 4th absolutely killed the game and it became a non event.

The shortest away day will probably go down as the worst away, soulless stadium in a shîte location really. Can get an atmosphere with the size and configuration of the ground.

Lick our wounds over the break and come back ready to go again.

I get the look at how far we’ve come argument and I get the we’re going to lose games argument, completely agree and understand but what pisses me off is losing like we did.

Errors for the first three goals, basic, preventable errors. Even the fourth one wasn’t great. Conceding at stupid times.

Before even reading what McKenna had said I was arguing on the way back to the station that West Ham didn’t have to work hard for their goals and that’s exactly what he said.

I was about to go to sleep with the TV on a timer, but the gist for me was from Shearer saying with his last comment (almost sympathetically I felt) that we were simply outplayed. Lineker just nodded, left it there, didn't disagree.

Shearer did say 'I know what he means but I disagree' essentially so he contradicted himself slightly

The apathy towards us in terms of comments and mentions is quite frustrating, Luton got credit and some patronising stuff generally, we aren't even getting that currently

Clearly a narrative is drawn through the season, it will change if we start winning though

Alan disagreed with Kieran's post match comments but then Alan was wearing a Donald Trump wig at the time. I think that's what happened but I was only half awake.

It's par for the course for teams like us though, isn't it. Spend a little bit of time congratulating us when the season starts, then unless we're getting spanked everyweek, or actually winning games, just politely ignore us for a few weeks or months.

It will probably be December time before they start analysing us in great detail, or rather pulling us apart and telling us why there's no chance we're staying up - no doubt following a narrow win or defeat against another relegation favourite.
