The shooting had stopped by then and he was surrounded by his close protection detail. Plus the adrenaline would have been pumping. On top of being hyped up for a rally speech. That reaction is not so way out.
Bystanders were killed and wounded. That wouldn't have happened in a staged event. There were real bullets flying around. | |

I'm not indulging in conspiracies or raising questions whether it was staged or similar and someone dying as a consequence of the attempt was obviously awful, merely questioning the ear injury. As firearms experts have said, the damage caused by a bullet striking an ear directly, as was claimed, would have been very significant, not something which would have been wholly recovered in a matter of days.
