'I hope anybody is not stupid enough to write us off' 11:30 - Nov 3 with 1879 viewsjasondozzell

Sense of injustice might ultimately not be a bad thing. Yesterday is the sort of thing that might unite us even more and provide fuel. We're good with backs against wall. Defiance suits us.

We're playing well. We deserved to win yesterday and at least a draw at Brentford. It might not feel like it because of being robbed but we've got some momentum.

There's no reason why we can't upset the apple cart against Spurs or United.

May not be a bad time to play Spurs if they get a bit of a going over in Istanbul on Thursday.

When we played Villa, they had eyes on the Bayern game.

Be better if we were at home mind.

Completely agree. They are missing big players too through injury. If we can get through the first 15 and settle our fitness and work rate might be a bit of a shock to them.

Two points from safety with just 28 games left. We can absolutely do this. Fans and players should channel the anger. Backs to the wall. Siege mentality. World against us. COYB

Yep. Ideally make sure we don't fall much further behind over the next three games, preferably by nicking something somewhere – then really attack that Palace-Bournemouth home double header and the subsequent weekend at Wolves. That little spell may be defining for our chances but we can give ourselves a good opportunity.

Indeed. We can't just write this off because we think we have limited games in which we can possibly take points.

We've seen way more hopeless cases than this.

Certainly the optimistic will look at the fact that there are plenty of teams around us. The bottom 5 in particular all much of a muchness

But we have to change a lot. Leicester are, imo, the second worst team in the division and the stats back that up. Them at home has to be three points really. At least we have context to defend the result but ultimately we didn't create enough before the sending off and they created better, higher quality chances.

If we go out and play like yesterday against a, well, Bournemouth or Spurs or Newcastle, we probably lose.

To be honest the first thing McKenna needs to do is prevent us giving up so many good opportunities. Yesterday was a step in the right direction despite the above.

Some teams will genuinely just be too good.

If you speak to any fans of teams relegated from the prem they'll tell you that the sickening punch is feeling like you're "in" most of the games you play but you're walking home to yet more points dropped. You then look at the cold hard facts of the game and realistically they were never actually in the game at all.

Despite the horrendous injury list (+ a bit of sickness), therefore hamstrung (sorry) & unable to field a settled side, we're clearly improving & will probably sign reinforcements come January. A situation we've been in before ...

I wonder if the reduced numbers now are actually helping give us more togetherness and fight? - a smaller group, backs against the wall, bonding & united. Good ladsπŸ‘πŸ‘

After I'd calmed down about the injustice of it all I remembered, correct me if I'm wrong, but did we ever go down to 10 men last season ? I think considering playing with 10 has been a rare experience then to pull a goal back with 10 against Brentford and hang on until extra time in 2 games with 10 has been pretty impressive but it needs to be 100% perfect.

If we're going to play with 10 against a team of 11 plus a ref plus a VAR team then so be it. Bring on the seige mentality. Time to work on the game management, playing with 10 and the dark arts.

I'm not writing us off because other than the West Ham and Everton games we have played well. But I can see how teams like us are relegated though.

You come into the season with great optimism and confidence. Put in some good performances and get some points on the board. Then you get some game changing decisions go against you. A penalty gained is overturned by VAR. Then VAR gives a penalty the other way when the ref doesn't award it. You get a player of two sent off which you feel wouldn't have happened to a more established Premier League team. You are playing well but just don't seem to get the breaks. By the time Christmas arrives you have given everything but your confidence must be shattered.

Not saying this will happen to us but you can see why the odds are stacked against promoted teams.

I'm still hopeful.

The annoying think is. Not many of the goals we concede are from excellent opponent goals started from their own halves which you actually see quite abit across the league.

We've been the master of own our downfall because of individual errors.

At some point these have got to stop its surely natural to come to a head and from then on maybe see the occasional blooper rather than every game.

a niche perspective

And they lost by 2 goals at home to Liverpool on the first day of the season, after back to back promotions!

The escape is on...
