Fully expected Godfrey, Burgess and Johnson to return. Clarke is a surprise.

He's just come back from injury - I'd say it's giving him a rest more than anything.

TEAM on 15:26 - Jan 19 with 3012 views | AVJones | Unless there are lots of injuries, I think that’s the end of Woolf now. McKenna tried 3 at the back, liked it, but didn’t rate Woolf as strong enough hence getting Godfrey. With Tuanzebe to challenge for a place too. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I don’t reckon it is, or are we to say the same about Greaves? KM does nothing on a whim and I look forward to hearing his thinking on this team - because there’s some bold moves here. Jack Clarke starting anyone? Got to admit, I’m not looking forwards to this.

Burgess back as Haaland bullied our backline in the air at the Etihad; I was itching to see him try that against Cam in that match, but he was out of the picture back then. Really looking forward to that duel today.

What on earth are you on about? Woolf started the last three games. Now it’s the end of him? Have you any idea how we as a club or how KM operates? Is it the end for Greaves too?

Burgess is three inches taller than Greaves so i suspect you are right, its tactical to face Haaland

Nonsense. Reckon Woolfenden rested as he has played a lot over Christmas. It’s not just the physical demand at this level but the mental, and our defence has had to withstand a lot and work harder than most.

If we're looking to stick to a back three it's good to have a back up in each position. Godfrey - Tuanzebe O'Shea - Woolfenden Greaves - Burgess

I disagree. Burgess and Greaves have different strengths and Greaves has been ok, nothing more. Hence there is still real competition. O’Shea was clearly preferred to Woolf as soon as he was bought. And has been very good. And Godfrey and Tuanzebe compete for right sided roles, after O’Shea. I feel - sadly - that Woolf is now behind those three. I could well be wrong
TEAM on 15:55 - Jan 19 with 1694 views | Smoresy | Respect to people who have strong opinions on who their favourites are, the forum is rightly a safe space for all that. But for us to survive we need to try to become the 12th man at home. We've been waiting for players to inspire us mostly, apart from big games on Sky, rather than the other way around. Away from home is a different story. 👏 Ipswich are starting and Ipswich will be coming off the bench. That's the mentality that will give our boys a lift and make away teams less keen to come here. See you lucky ones in the stands.

Indeed. We are a Premier league team, with a Premier league squad. Players will be rotated. It doesn't mean the end for them f they aren't in the matchday squad.
