Burgess back as Haaland bullied our backline in the air at the Etihad; I was itching to see him try that against Cam in that match, but he was out of the picture back then. Really looking forward to that duel today. |  |

Burgess is three inches taller than Greaves so i suspect you are right, its tactical to face Haaland |  |

Nonsense. Reckon Woolfenden rested as he has played a lot over Christmas. It’s not just the physical demand at this level but the mental, and our defence has had to withstand a lot and work harder than most. |  | | |

If we're looking to stick to a back three it's good to have a back up in each position.

I disagree.
Burgess and Greaves have different strengths and Greaves has been ok, nothing more. Hence there is still real competition.
O’Shea was clearly preferred to Woolf as soon as he was bought. And has been very good.
And Godfrey and Tuanzebe compete for right sided roles, after O’Shea.
I feel - sadly - that Woolf is now behind those three.

Respect to people who have strong opinions on who their favourites are, the forum is rightly a safe space for all that. But for us to survive we need to try to become the 12th man at home. We've been waiting for players to inspire us mostly, apart from big games on Sky, rather than the other way around. Away from home is a different story. 👏
