Man United latest cuts announcement; get into them early 16:15 - Feb 24 with 2374 viewsunstableblue

Right the United club statement is going down like Musk’s DOGE initiative with federal US employees, but importantly it’s landing very badly with fans

https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/statement-man-utd-announces-transformation

If we can start strongly and score, knock back some of the positives form the away second half at Goodison, then we could really make it toxic up there.

We’ve somehow got to lift ourselves again. Bring some of the spirit and quality seen at Fulham, Wolves, Brentford, Spurs

I read that only players will get meals at the training ground. Coaches and staff will get soup and bread.

Whilst you should be thankful for whatever is free, I can’t think of a better way to drive a wedge between staff

Seemingly not.

Reports appear to vary, but the consistent line is that the canteen is being closed to non-playing staff. Some outlets are suggesting that staff will be given free fruit instead, and others are saying that it'll be soup and a sandwich.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

We should have beaten a United side with better players at their disposal at Portman Road.

No Rashford, no Amad..

We will have a chance, it will be about belief

Mad isn't it. Wonder how much that saves the club, £8m a year?

That's 1 very average and overpaid £150k a week footballer, of which they have a few.

What a disgusting industry football is.

the problem, which is the curse of the Premier league is treating it just like a free cash machine, its exactly the hole we got ourselves in 25 years ago, because its the Premier league and its awash with cash so they can afford to do whatever with it right ? because the money train never ends ?

and thats how you end up with 900 employees at the club, 900 employees all getting free lunches, every day they want it, whilst the club doesnt have enough spare cash to fix a roof, or update the press box so it actually has more than a pair of ISDN phone lines, and the only way to actually update Old Trafford now is to demolish it and build again.

you think say if it is 8million a year, over 25 years, thats 200million. Evertons new stadium is costing 500million.

it reminds of those covid payments, when Tottenham stated they had over 200 people working in their ticket office.

and why on earth has Man Utd got a London office ? I mean yeah its a digusting industry when you see the largesse of these clubs, the amount of money they are wasting on things, for no benefit on the pitch outcomes.

Yup, it will be another case of being marginally competitive but wide open and gifting them four.
Wolves will do Fulham as well and that will be game over before the clocks go forward.

Yeah, but you have to take into account that the guy driving these cuts is only worth £19.9 billion. And the Glazers are only worth £4 billion and so obviously deserve the £1 billion they’ve taken out of the club. Nobody in their right mind would argue they need to review their salaries, dividends, perks and bonuses.

So it’s important the ground staff on £23,000 understand they need to make sacrifices to help protect the profitability of the club. Gruel it is
