Thats a head injury. He is OBLIGED to stop the game 16:45 - Feb 22 with 4026 views | redrickstuhaart | He has stopped it twice for non head injuries to Tottenham players and also for a very similar head injury incident the other end. Once again, I genuinely question the integrity of refereeing in the PL. [Post edited 22 Feb 16:46]

He literally stopped the game for the same thing, and for two non head injuries. Then chose a different course when Spurs were attacking. Why is that? Its not a mistake, he could see it. It was a choice.

It's the rules. Literally stopped the match when it happened to a Spurs player. Not like you to be a contrarian though..... SB

I do hate the way players go down with "head injuries" when they are perfectly fine just to stop the game. There must be a way to cut that out especially with VAR. No cause for it and a yellow card would probably do the trick.

Not like you to make unnecessary snide comments though ... If you stop the game immediately someone clutches their head, they'd never be an attack. You have to apply some common sense. If that was a Spurs player going down everyone would be absolutely crucifying the ref if he stopped our attack.

It's literally happened in this match when a Spurs player has gone down. Are you watching? Snide comments in your view, evidence based criticism in mine. SB

There is no evidence i'm a contrarian so it was a sheer snide comment. Stick to the discussion please. We are all gutted at the result so I will accept some rough and tumble comments. I didn't see an earlier incident, not that that has any bearing on that one, other to underline an inconsistent referee, but that wasn't my point. My point was if you blow the whistle as soon as someone clutches their head, the game will descend into chaos. I would have been most annoyed if he'd blown if we were attacking as it didn't look serious. The referee has got to have some discretion. If it's clearly serious by all means blow but that didn't look it, so fine to wait a bit.

But he had already done so for both head injuries and non head injuries thre times for Spurs players in the game. Stop ignoring this.

That only makes sense if you think a previous decision has a bearing on the decision in question. I don't believe it does. Where are you going with that? A decision made by the same ref last week, last year? The argument that the referee is inconsistent is another issue. A contrarian is not someone who takes a minority view, it is someone who takes an opposite view for the sake of it, rather than being their genuine position. My instant reaction was that was clutching at straws. You've got no evidence that's not my genuine position. On the contrary, I seem to be building some evidence that you are upset by any other opinion but your own.

Thats a head injury. He is OBLIGED to stop the game on 19:08 - Feb 22 with 2443 views | Zx1988 | Couldn't make any sense of that one. Even in real time, the incident was a clear coming together of heads. Based on that video that Sky put out during the week, about communication between officials, I can quite imagine the linesman piping up with "head injury, 24, blue" but, for whatever reason, the referee chose to completely ignore the protocols. What was even weirder, was that Greaves wasn't allowed on for the restart, despite play not having had to stop for him to receive treatment.

Thats a head injury. He is OBLIGED to stop the game on 19:34 - Feb 22 with 2303 views | mellowblue | I think that if refs are playing on because of faking an injury, fine with me. But as in rugby, medical staff should allowed on in such circumstances, rather than wait for permission from the ref. One, it lets the game flow, two, the player is treated quicker three, it cuts out any faking Just to clarify, I don't think he was faking

Anyway Son ripped us a new one watching the highlights a few times it was almost as if it was ‘get the ball to Son’.. Town were in slow motion compared to him. Town scored a lovely goal though. 17th was my dream,it’s not over yet.
