Renewal info must be due really soon for next season? Be interesting to see how long the club wait.not sure if relegation will reduce renewals much / will there be further enforced seat moves etc ?

I’m guessing they have to wait to see what league town will be playing in.

How many season ticket holders were there this season?

I reckon there will be a few thousand who don’t renew.

Nah, every ST holder was happy to pay/watch us in League one, so can't see an exodus of disappointed fans unhappy with Championship footie.

A few will drop off for sure (people die, move etc.) but the prospect of chasing tickets / ballots / 10am fastest finger = if/when we get back to the Prem isn't exactly all that appealing.

We are a loyal and committed lot on the whole.

Around 21,000 I think. Not had any new ones for a couple of years.

Edit: Reading this - is between 20 and 21k.

Doubt it. We have a waiting list for season tickets and also a large number of fans who have not been able to get into home or away games this season unless they got lucky in the ballots. Those people will snap up any chance to get a ST. And the vast majority of the current ones will renew I'd imagine, as people have seen this season that having a ST is the only guaranteed way to get into home games, and won't want to miss out if we bounce straight back to the Prem.

Only big difference next season, if we go down, will be the smaller number of away fans.

Other than the usual element of annual churn, I expect the vast majority will renew ahead of what everyone would hope will be an exciting season next year.

It took several years following the previous relegation for the crowds to fall away.

Town haven't organised the waiting list yet unless I missed it, while my guess is we've sold more STs than ideal, maybe a couple thousand above current target. Anyone cancelling may have a very long wait before they're able to buy again, and that unknown should help keep renewals very high. ST holders also all joined in L1 or just after L1 promotion, so they aren't a PL footy crowd.

Don't see us doing anything major that would require seat moves next season.

I'm a definite renewer, hopefully my son can join me USBR next season if something becomes available as he has been unfortunate with the ballot on most occasions this year....for me though, I am more interested in how relegation may affect the redevelopment of the Cobbold Stand.

Can’t see many people dropping off other than those that are no longer with us / moving away etc. Also can’t see any of those season tickets being offered out, the Cobbold won’t be redeveloped yet but it’s vital that the club have enough room for all of the season tickets holders and away fans when the time comes.

We definitely sold too many in Spring 2023. Understandable at the time as we were no way guaranteed to get promoted but demand was there so decent revenue for L1. Its a problem going forward.

As is the price, cheapest in the PL and one of the cheapest in the Championship. Had we stayed up I'd have imagined a hefty 25% increase (as Forest did last 2 seasons). Season ticket holders typically spend less then "daytrippers" who visit the clubshop, buy food in the ground etc.

Two ways to reduce the season ticket numbers:
- hike the price
- be rubbish on the pitch

I doubt there will be any reduction in price regardless of relegation. Probably just less of an increase.....!

I can't believe many will give their ST up.

I have recently turned 65, so my season ticket next season in Upper SBR should go down by around £140, given this season's prices.

Makes a change for a direct debit to go down.

On the other side of the coin our son turned 12 in January so his will likely double in price!

Just the natural life changes fall-off, I suspect.

Hopefully, all the people not able to go this season will take advantage of the fact that we'll have fewer away supporters next season and get to see us play more often.

I wouldn't be so sure we will have less people wanting to go to away games, especially if we have a good season.

The only reason there will be less people actually going is because of the smaller allocations from the home clubs.

Believe he's talking about PR; plenty will be looking forward to seeing more home games again with the reduced away capacity. I've heard good things from people who stood in the rail seating area for the Bournemouth game.

Ah yes, sorry, I've re-read it and see what you / he means.

Yes, there should be more tickets available to ITFC fans at PR as the away followings will be smaller for most clubs.

Yeah, back to the same numbers we had last season. It could be the last season many of us will enjoy the Cobbold stand if rumblings about it being knocked down are to be believed.

I think they have to wait as surely which league impacts the price?
The resale policy / process has no doubt helped some people to renew. Assuming it will stay in place.

Previously they’ve shown prices for both leagues. May not want to reveal what the Prem increase would be if they don’t need to though!

Was told by the club that everything is likely to be pushed back this year – until we know for definite which division we’ll be in (perhaps also allowing time to see what happens with the City ruling).

It was suggested that the season ticket campaign will be launched in June.
