The number of conflicts of interest in the current administration is quite staggering. However Ackman backed Trump so he can't really start complaining now.

It's a tremendous opportunity. Trying to sense to bottom is so difficult. Dripping though the odd buy feels the only tactic. Tbh the ftse can't really go lower than 6,000 as that's the low point of the Pandemic when the world was falling to bits.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Innit. Just paper losses and meaningless for now. I feel sorry for any poor sods who are right in the middle of pulling down their pensions. They’ll get hammered.

In hindsight if it’s all going to hell I wish I’d blown it on expensive hookers and cheap drugs!

Never too late, though you might end up having to downgrade your expectations a tad. Think heroine addict street walker rather than high class escort.

Don't disagree in principle but I made the same point on Friday, there's more to come, and people need to be careful on some stocks that they don't look "cheap" by relatively recent standards, but plenty still at ridiculous valuations despite this 'correction'.

Agree. If you have a bit of spare cash and your view is long term. This event is a huge opportunity.

I agree, and I'll be topping up this week at the right price. I'm not advocating trying to guess where the bottom is necessarily, just a word of caution that some of these stocks are still at silly valuations and I think sometimes people underestimate how dangerous trying to catch a falling knife can be. I'll stick to my fundamentals, I'll buy when the prices look OK to me based on the metrics and ratios I favour, but I'll not be using past 6-12 month valuations as an indicator of future returns in many cases.

On a positive, the price of oil is still dropping, it will be heading towards £1 a litre at the pumps if this continues.

Although if it keeps dropping, companies aren't going to be doing any 'drill baby drill' as the sums won't add up.

All you need is £GGP. Company now perfectly aligned with the gold super cycle and a new price target and buy rating of 23p. This time next year Rodney.

Not to mention any drop in oil prices takes about 6 months to filter through to the forecourts.
