Film sequels / reboots that are not part of the original set, which are decent? 22:48 - Aug 24 with 709 viewsredrickstuhaart

In this world of endless tedious reboots and generic superhero films, there are a small selection which are actually worthwhile. Not necessarily better, but genuinely good films:

Bladerunner 2049
Mad Max Fury Road

I did a quick google search for suggestions, but wildly disagreed with most. Karate Kid with Jackie Chan? Its okay. I am a Chan fan of old, but pushing it. Any suggestions? Dont need to be actually better, but do need to be actually good....

All Quiet on the Western Front. The remake from a few years ago I thought was excellent

Alien: Romulus. I haven't started the tv show yet, but it's getting good reviews.

Logan - it's bascially a Western. Mangold also did the excellent remake of 3:10 to Yuma which is also worth watching.

Die Hard 4.0

Out of the interminable different films Disney have made since they got their hands on the Star Wars franchise, one of the best (and arguably better than anything George Lucas made since the original trilogy) is Rogue One.

Gareth Edwards made a better film than any JJ Abrams spin-offs.

I watched the first 3 episodes last night and its shaping up well. I think it'll have enough new story to feel pretty different to the films.
