The draws won’t keep you up narrative 17:41 - Oct 25 with 2066 viewsJoey_Joe_Joe_Junior

Heard that a few times when discussing our start to the season.

Not sure I completely buy it, Hull currently above us on GD with 4 of them, Leeds had 14 last year! Of course you’re going to have win a fair bit but being difficult to beat is also important, every point can feel like a prisoner at times and it also can stop a runs of back to back defeats etc which is never good.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Depends who the draws are against too

Draws v hull and coventry wont be great
But if we got 12 points from them but draws from others its a good combo.

Also helps build momentum and be less chaotic too maybe.

Mind you, the only times we have got close to drawing this season before Friday, we've gone and won them in the last minute!

Yeah indeed but I think Fridays game was a perfect example of a really valuable point and we hadn’t drawn all year. So to keep that in tact second half was really important.

It's pretty simple I think.

Wins and draws = good
Defeats and draws = bad

It’s probably unlikely we will win every game against the other promoted sides but yes I agree they obviously have to be targets for wins.

A loss next week would feel like a big momentum shift and also change the narrative around who has the best chance to stay up. I’d say it’s an important one not to lose.

Considering Forest's recent results, at kick off I'd say Friday was two points dropped. After the game, I see it as one gained.

38 points would have kept you up plenty of times over the last decade!

I think forest are something like <15 for xgs. Their overall play has worked they just score.

I think they’re decent, was worried about Friday, don’t love our set up agaisnt wing backs sometimes, so hopefully that gives us plenty to think about going into next week.

What do you expect with Delap & Wood up front?

Think it was on Match of the Day last night they said they should be fourth on balance of chances etc created.

I was impressed with them on Friday - definitely a point gained.

Losing can become a habit.

Not winning can become a habit.

Not losing can become a habit.

I don't buy it at all. If we're not going to win - and it isn't going to happen every game - drawing is the next best thing. Keeps the points tally ticking upwards, doesn't dent the GD.

We need the draws to fill in the gaps.

For that matter, a draw every game between now and the end of the season would very likely see us safe.

Additionally, battling draws in adverse circumstances, against very strong teams or equalising from being behind are all good for morale.

Well, that's one of those questionable sayings. In theory (never happen in practice ), you could draw every single one of your PL games and end up with 38 points, which would at least give you a sniff of survival. If it did, draws would most certainly keep you up!

Likely the same people that will probably declare our next game as a relegation six pointer.

Can you imagine the mood, already buoyant, if we had managed to snatch a last minute equaliser last week?

Points however we get them is good, points from 4 games this season is also good. Points however we get them is crucial

Every point in the PL a good one for probably 10-12 teams.

But only if win a few. As we have.

If we get a minimum 7 or 8 against Hull and Coventry I'd be very happy.

After 4 home games we have already equaled our home points haul from the entire season from 2024-25. Very much hoping we go on to beat it!

Disagree, points like this One could very well keep you up because we should have lost that game comfortably, we didn't.

12 points 12 goals for me.

Every point we dont get from the weaker teams in the league is a point we need to get from a stronger team.

Draws absolutely keep you up if you replace losses with them.

They don't keep you up if you replace wins with them.
