Fallon Returns to Plymouth
Fallon Returns to Plymouth
Monday, 17th Jan 2011 08:50

Striker Rory Fallon’s loan spell has been cut short and he has returned to Plymouth Argyle. The New Zealander was due to remain with the Blues until January 22nd with terms regarding a permanent move provisionally agreed between the clubs.

However, according to Argyle, the 28-year-old is not in new manager Paul Jewell’s plans and his spell has been terminated a week early. The former Swansea man was an unused sub at Millwall on Saturday.

Fallon, who joined Town in late November, made four starts and two sub appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal.

cant understand why people still keep going on about Rhodes, he didnt want to play for us! The issues with his father being sacked as goalkeeping coach must be a clue to people!

Spot on Bluelady why can't people realise that Keane had little choice other than to offload Rhodes. He did not want to play for ITFC and his father made sure of it. Lets forget about it and move on. The main disappointing aspect of the move was the low fee we got for him.

Ref Rhodes, he didnt set the world alight when given several opportunities here. Just because he regularly scores in the league below means nothing. Isnt Roberts starring at that level week in week out also?
Who would say he would improve our first team.
Agree with a couple of other posts on here and think that Ronan Murray could be something special.

Sean McCarthy would have seen Fallon play many times at Argyle & would probably have had an input about him. Thankfully he's gone back.

Thank f..k for that, he was not a Championship promotion pushing player, He was ok to help us survive the Championship maybe but surely we want better?

Well done Jewell.Fallon was an average at best and not the kind of player to take us forward. Lets hope he can now make a couple of telling signings to uplift the squad and ensure we keep Norris and Mcauley at the club.

Slightly disappointed about that. Thought he did much better at Town than the Argyle fan comments suggested he would. Possibly just a poor fit at the Devon club.

I think there's something in what ITFC1981 said. I reckon their Manager wants him back to flog elsewhere, probably not willing to extend the loan and Ipswich did not want to buy (or, at least, not yet). Plymouth are, after all, rumoured to be VERY short of money.

Maybe, also, he didn't fit into our new Manager's planned 'system', or the club wants to save his wages to spend on someone else.

Still, thanks for your efforts, the goal and the assists, Rory, and best wishes for the future.

Anyone who knows the game knows Fallon was a decent player - again, as always, needs to be played to his strengths.
When good, talented, fit players don't perform, it's not always down to them I can assure you.
Much of it's down to what's happening around them, or not happening, as the case maybe. FACT.

I thought was decent, brought others into play. Shame to see him go back, I thought he could of only got better as the games went on. I admit though, he wasnt going to be a 20 goal a season player.
Good luck Rory.

Inevitable with the change of manager but he did his best and deserves to succeed at the right level.

h32 - he isnt a big goal scorer and never has been FACT, we have better goal scorers in the club already FACT we need a creative format to feed the likes of Prisken, Scotland etc FACT. Fallon is a half decent player, should i think be in the championship but is not any better than what we have in the club already FACT. Why do you always put FACT after all your posts, as you can see from this post its very agressive. you come across as someone with a lot of anger inside, chill out mate its only a game :-)

bluelady - yes it's only a game, and a bl--dy expensive one too - and after all the years of involvement in the game, I say it as it is, please or offend, and only quote facts. It's also a game to be WON - not lost, that's a word I choose not to know the meaning of - sorry but that's me.
