Norris Undergoing Scan
Norris Undergoing Scan
Monday, 14th Feb 2011 13:34

Skipper David Norris is undergoing a scan on the injuries which forced him off after 15 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley and is expected to miss at least Town’s next two games. The midfielder twisted both his knee and his ankle at Oakwell.

Jewell says he’ll have a clearer idea how long the 29-year-old will be out once he has seen the results of the scan: “He was very sore yesterday and he’s getting scanned even as we speak. It’s obviously a sore one and he’s obviously out of the immediate games I would think.

“I’ll be able to tell you more once we’ve got the scan results. I would have thought that he’s out of the next two games at least but he’s a quick healer Chuck and I should know more when I get the test results.”

Jewell confirmed that Colin Healy will replace Norris in his starting line-up at Doncaster tomorrow.

Bit of a sickener to lose Norris when he's playing the best football of his time here. No major problems with Healy, as his touch & passing aren't too bad, but he just seems a bit slow. Still not really any other options, although Peters strangely overlooked by PJ since he arrived.

This may cause a little problem at the Hull game with Norris out and Bullard unable to play, we may be a little short in the centre of the park. Get fit soon Chuck!

Healey will prob get sharper and faster with a run of games. I to am surprised that Peters isnt given a game or two there. Maybe he has become the perfect all round sub, poor fella!

Put peters in an attacking midfield role with jimmy and leadbitter behind him and usual wingers and priskin. Peters played that once before against Leeds at home and was awesome so give it a go PJ

Drury is as yet untested, so my preference at the moment would definately be Peters. But, would I just love Drury to come on and prove me totally wrong - to right I would !

Healy is not the answer. Tries his best and credit to him, but not good enough. Must look to the loan market. Best of luck to Norris, but this looks serious.

until Hyam got injured he would've been the 1st player on the team sheet by far. Put him deep where Leadbitter sits with Bullard and play Leadbitter further forward for once, he's got a shot on him.

About 2-3 weeks, it will give Drury and Healy a chance to show what theya re made of.
