Jewell Set to Meet Player
Jewell Set to Meet Player
Thursday, 26th May 2011 16:33

Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed that he will meet with a prospective signing in the morning. The Blues manager is at today’s Marina Dalglish Appeal Golf Day at Royal Lytham back in his native North-West.

Jewell was one of a number of Championship bosses at the event all in a similar position: “We’re all having a game of golf today and when we get off the golf course there will be 20 missed calls as we’re all trying to do deals.

“Straight after this I’m driving down to Ipswich to meet a player in the morning, so it never stops.

“We’re all looking for players, probably all looking for the same players, to be honest. A manager’s job never stops just because the football stops.”

Elsewhere, former Blue Liam Trotter, who joined Millwall after rejecting a new contract with Town last summer, is reportedly interesting Wigan, Norwich and Nottingham Forest.

Trotter's impressive performances for the Lions this season saw him sign an extended contract until 2014 in January.

It will probably be that Belgian fella or that non league striker.
Anyone in has to be a positive move though however big or small their reputation.

Saw a couple of rumours saying it was Nugent. But I have a feeling it will be Dyer.

Jas pay as you play for dyer is a win win he is incentivised to keep fit and we don't pay for a player when not playing.. even half fit he would be awesome, but hasn't had much luck with injury......

Dyer Good/No Good Keeps getting injured on fifa/ Real life. We need 2 or older players. But quite a few young players so they can get good. Bet it that brantham person

Thats Branthams Olly Mann then. I reckon even then Clegg probably won't be able to persuade him to sign.

Thats the word. I am a huge fan of Chopra. Lets hope it has some substance.

Most of the rumours seem to suggest its Ollie Mann, the striker from Brantham. The guy hasn't got an agent so the easiest way to do things is to speak in person. TBH know very little about him except that he was prolific in the non-leagues. Danger is is that Pablo Counago would be scoring 45-50 goals a season in the non-leagues too.....
Andy Drury and Ollie Mann. PJ knows what he is doing so I am sure these 2 will start firing soon.....
With Boothroyd now gone I doubt that Cardiff will readily get rid of Chopra. We have to keep an eye and try and assess these transfers from the perspectives of the other teams and players too....

Its tough times being a Town fan at the moment. We are linked with Ollie Mann from Brantham while Norwich are linked with Miroslav Klose......

IF the guy [ whoever he is ] signs, whether or not he's from the Prem, lower league or the moon, as long as he can do a job and do it well, who cares ? As for it being Dyer, I reiterate my earlier thoughts, think we've already had the best of him.

PJewellisagod. You make some very good points and i agree, how many would pablo be scoring in non league ? Most supporters on here seem to want a signing(s) asap, would rather be patient myself and get the right ones. As regards to dyer, my heart says yes, my head says no.
Most people on here seem to talk about Clegg as though he is some kind of clown, Couldn't see PJ. joining the town if that was the case, Keane messed this club up, spent loads on players and took us backwards. How much do we fans really know about what goes on behind the scenes ??? Probably not as much as we think.
Lets hope if there is a signing today, its one to get us all talking, for the right reasons, :-)... Could it be the Doncaster pair?? Sharpe and Coppinger, Yes please.

I have been reliably informed from a good source that it is in fact Sol Cambell.

I for one wouldn't be dissapointed it we did sign Ollie Mann. He may be one for the future and for a few cup games but 80+ goals in 2 years, don't think we've scored that as a whole team! I'm akll for a couple of big names but if we can unearth some hidden gems on the cheap from lower leagues bring it on.

I don't care who we get as long as the perfomances are better than the last few years.
