Blackburn Linked With Move for Loach
Blackburn Linked With Move for Loach

Blackburn Rovers are reported to have made an enquiry to Watford regarding Town target Scott Loach. The Blues have agreed a fee with the Hornets for the 24-year-old keeper and have been given permission to speak to the former England U21 international.

Town’s move for the ex-Blues academy schoolboy is said to have alerted Rovers, who will be at Portman Road on the opening day of the Championship season, who may now make an offer for the 6ft 4in tall keeper.

Speaking last night before news of the offer being accepted breaking, boss Paul Jewell was hopeful that the Blues’ move for a keeper was close to being completed: “The one we’re going for, we’re quite a long way down the line with that one. I don’t really comment on speculation but we’re hoping to tie the goalkeeping one up pretty soon.

“We’ve been chasing a goalkeeper for a while and we’re hoping it’s going to happen in the next few days.”

He added: “I don’t want to sound too confident as we’ve been down this route before, but we’re hopeful of getting the one that we want.”

Loach, a boyhood Town fan, has expressed his delight at his impending move on Twitter: "So buzzing right now. Hopefully more will become clear soon."

Later he commented: "This could be a dream come true! ‪#likeakidatxmas."

Town are still to agree personal terms with Nottingham-born Loach, who was at Playford Road between 1997 and 2000, while Watford may want to have secured another keeper before allowing him to move on.

Tottenham's Carlo Cudicini and ex-Arsenal man Manuel Almunia are believed to be Gianfranco Zola's targets.

This Blackburn link is even more ridiculous than us chasing lonergan! If Kean has seriously put in a bid he's as much of a clown as all the rovers fans think he is!!

Just thought I'd take a cheeky lunchtime look at TWTD, thinking to myself, "I wonder if Loach has passed his medical and signed on the dotted line yet?" and instead I'm greeted with this cr@p!

Oh well, typical Ipswich, unable to close another deal quickly. (Clegg Out!)

On any other transfer, maybe.... but on this one, he is ITFC bound for sure.

Oh just do one Rovers. Come on Scott, you don't want to go there... you'll only have to appear in a rubbish chicken nuggets advert to please the owners!

I cant see loach going to Blackburn over us, the only thing that could possible put him off coming here is whether or not he will be 1st or 2nd choice keeper.

As our offer has already been accepted it doesn't matter if they offer Watford more money so the club side doesn't matter now it's all about the player. Now by the sounds of his tweets and his history with the club we should be in a strong position to get him here. Blackburn have Paul Robinson as there number 1 whereas here Loach would be number 1, he has worked with our coaches before and as his tweets say, "hes like a kid at xmas!" Fingers crossed even if the rumours about Blackburn are true we should be able to get him down here!

He's coming here - usually not so confident but he loves Town and the deal seems pretty well advanced

Think we are safe enough on this one. Scott has his heart set on it i reckon.

Brilliant if this is true.

Loach is massively overrated.

Now we see if money talks or if he really is a town fan if

If he signs for Blackburn then he'll big one of the biggest hypocrites in football ever. Blackburn have bigger resources so could offer him larger contract and they probably have a greater chance of promotion, will he be tempted?

Lol sounds to me sky sports inside man at Blackburn is trying to justify his position, last week were they not in talks with Davies plus every other player linked to another team.

Considering how much he clearly wants to join us, you've still got to be confident.

But can Watford call off the transfer? Strange if so, as they've already accepted the bid.

Any idea what the fee will be?

I wouldn't worry about this, obviously a blue through and through and can't see him chucking away his dream to sign for Blackburn

Would you want to go to Blackburn? No way - he will come back to Portman Road !

Michael11 added 14:12 - Jul 18
there's more chance of me going to carrow road next season than him going to blackburn! only one team he wants to sign for!

Tillz9 added 14:14 - Jul 18
Don't think Watford would call of the transfer. Surely Blackburn would just match our bid and hold talks themselves if Loach was interested

rather have Kello. No point in getting upset this happens all the time and not just to us. More interested in who the centre half is that we are after.
