The TWTD Banner Vote
The TWTD Banner Vote
Thursday, 8th Aug 2013 10:33

TWTD Message Boarders have spent the summer coming up with designs for banners and you can help choose which ones will appear in the Portman Road stands.

There are six designs up for consideration, which you can see below. Vote for your favourite here and once the funding is raised the top two will be manufactured with the club already agreeing that they can be hung in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand.

The project will cost around £500 is being crowd sourced with all donations gratefully received. For more details and to make a donation, click here.

Textbackup, who instigated the banner plan, told TWTD how the idea came about: “It was purely to show that we're proud of our history and want to see the good times return in the near future. The ideas for the banners came from lots of people on the Message Board with DanTheMan knocking them into shape.”

A - Far to soon to have a banner with Mick in it. And the ones without trophies look better :)

Are they not going to have the TWTD on them now, as were originally there?

I would agree with A, not so keen on the trophies and like GB being in there.

Plus B doesn't even look like Sir Bob!

A.

Banners featuring Mick don't make sense.

It has to be A.

The concept of B is also good but as someone else has posted it isn't immediately obvious to people outside of ITFC that Sir Bobby is on the left of B. While it is obviously him that particular format doesn't readily give priority to his obviously recognisable features.

So A for me, or I'd be happy with B if the Sir Bobby image from A was used. I am sure nobody would mind if you had to create his shoulders on either side for it to work.

I promise I'm not a Budgie and I'm just playing Devil's advocate, but shouldn't we qualify the years we've been the Pride of Anglia just a bit?

Has to be A, Burley was a phenomenal manager in his own right, the trophies look tacky.

Gilesy, that is why we need the trophies on the poster as that justifies why ITFC is the Pride of Anglia. Unless, of course, Norwich start competing with our trophy cabinet by winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Cup. Which is not going to happen...That's why I would go for B.

Oh and i feel it is important that we have the trophies on the banner to remind the opposition of the titles we have won as most of them will not know when they visit PR. That's why Man U and Liverpool often put how many titles they have won on their banners.

I agree with the comments about B. As much as I admire George Burley for the season of bliss he gave us, there is a reason why we have two stands named after the latter two.

I'm indifferent about the trophies, just having Sir Alf and Sir Bobby on the banner would be enough for most people to know, but as there is no banner of just them I choose B!

Definitely need Burley in there, but not too fussed by the 'pride of East Anglia' text as although I think we would all argue that we are, realistically we wouldn't be able to win that argument with many people outside of Suffolk so should be scrapped in my opinion

Maybe D with three stars on it instead of trophy cut-outs? Much classier imo.
