Too Soon for Tunnicliffe Talks Friday, 11th Oct 2013 10:57 Boss Mick McCarthy wants to keep loan midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe beyond the end of his current spell in January, but says there’s little point in approaching Manchester United boss David Moyes yet.
Tunnicliffe has been hugely impressive on the left of midfield in seven starts and three sub appearances since joining the Blues in August with the Red Devils having sent scouts to Portman Road to keep an eye on his performances.
McCarthy says he will speak to the Premier League champions nearer the end of the 20-year-old’s current spell: “The deal was that we’d take him until January and if it fits and Tunners is enjoying it, which he is, he’s loving it and we’ve loving having him.
“If that can be continued, then so be it. But if Man United want to bring him back and play him then that’s it.
“If that happens, then we’ve done a good job with him and he’s done a good job for us. If not and he’s going to stay out on loan, then we want him. But we can’t do anything about it until January.”

Good signing, good player. However this is why I am pleased we only rely on one loan signing this season. Last few seasons we would have had 3-4 of these stories a la Keith Andrews, Danny Collins etc.

Can't see him being in United's plans unless they go far in the League Cup or something. Hope he stays for the season because he's definitely improved the side. I'd still prefer to see him play central midfield rather than on the left though.

Yep, can see them letting him stay longer, he's not going to get any first team action at MU

Decent player but agree, not going to get near United's First team (Zaha cant even get a look in) so can see him staying the full season.

Spot on Marshalls Mullett. How refreshing it is to have to worry about one loan player potentially leaving in January, rather than half a dozen, given the distabilising effect this has had in past seasons.

I think we all know why Zaha isn't getting a game at Utd....!

Been really impressed reminds me of when took Colback on loan. For me would be good in the centre really good box to box player and get a natural winger out wide
