Valenciennes Striker Set for Trial
Wednesday, 22nd Jul 2015 15:24

Valenciennes striker Andy Faustin is reportedly set to join the Blues on trial.

According to L’Equipe, the 18-year-old Frenchman has been invited to train with the Town squad next week.

Faustin, who was linked with Crystal Palace in January, made three starts and three sub appearances for the Valenciennes second team last season in CFA2, the fifth tier of French football.

Valenciennes, whose first team play in Ligue 2, are reported to be off-loading their youth players due to financial problems and are said to want €100,000 (£70,000) for Faustin.

Given his age and lack of experience, 6ft tall Faustin would appear most likely to be viewed as a potential member of Mark Kennedy’s development squad.

Do we need another striker though? Unless this is one for the future?

You'd think the amount of time some people spend on here that they would be slightly more educated. Sounds a promising youngster that's worth a look at.

70k for a 18yo striker def one for the future, I can see the same ones saying when we bought mings for 10k and what happened with him, if we made the same profit be worth 25 million or so that cant be bad.

Bienvenue Andy, bonne chance.

Valenciennes got relegated last season and I think are desperate for money, so this could prove to be an astute signing (if it happens).

If we don't sign young players now, 10 years down the line you'll all be moaning that we didn't sign them 10 years before.

Just no pleasing some people...

If premier league palace were interested then he must be doing something right. Not hoping that he becomes a star for the purposes of money but for our 1st team in the future.

Some people are moaning that we never pay transfer fees.

Now some people think we might be about to waste money on a transfer fee.

You couldn't make it up.

Looking forward to seeing this guy in action. His stats aren't that good but he must be doing something right if he's worth that much at 18! Certainly could be good for the future.

Nothing against this happening, good for future. But for the near future I don't see why Noel Hunt hasn't been given another year!!?
