Town’s goal in the recent 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion has been awarded to Blues striker Joe Pigott after a review by the EFL’s Dubious Goal Committee.

The 23rd-minute equaliser was initially recorded as an own goal by Brewers defender Tom O'Connor but it has now been given to Pigott, his first goal for the club.

“It was my goal, the defender flicked it onto me,” the former AFC Wimbledon man told the club website.

“My celebration might have been muted as I wanted to get the ball so we could keep the momentum.”

chepstowblue added 12:06 - Aug 23 That is certainly a dubious award from a very dubious committee. Unable to get a ticket in the away section I opted for the Burton main stand,had a perfect view, and would be very surprised if Pigott got any kind of touch on it.

This is the social media generation. Personally I'd prefer the vote function was removed so if you don't agree with something you actually have to argue your point, rather than just vote it down.

You know debate, make a case etc. I get voted down no matter what I say because I thought MM did a good job with tight resources and I'm far from convinced by PC. This site used to be about opinions, arguments and debate. Now it's, if you don't agree with me you are my enemy.

I do tend to post my opinion if I downvote anyone unless the same point has already been made by someone else before me.
