Hutchinson Omitted From Forest's Europa League Squad
Wednesday, 3rd Sep 2025 22:59

Ex-Town forward Omari Hutchinson has been omitted from Nottingham Forest’s squad for the league phase of the Europa League.

Forest are limited to a squad of 22 rather than 25 as they have only one player who was at the club between the ages of 15 and 21 and not the four required by UEFA rules in order to name a full complement.

Hutchinson, whose £37.5 million move last month was the Blues’ record sale and Forest’s record purchase, misses out alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined on loan from Arsenal on Monday, and fellow summer arrivals Angus Gunn, Jair Cunha and Cuiabano, as well as Jota Silva and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Clubs are permitted to make three changes to the squad between the league stage of the competition and the knockout phase.

Hutchinson, 21, has made two Premier League appearances as a late sub since joining Forest.

The grass is not always greener on the other side, except financially of course.

Maybe he was omitted because of his issues with his sore throat!

Some ‘nodding dogs’ might want to worry more about us losing to a fourth division reserve side and scoring one goal from open play all season, an own goal!

He’s quite right to go and play for a team that’s almost champion league quality, and he’ll do brilliantly medium and long term, he’s a huge talent. He shouldn’t be playing against Oxford etc.., and if we had anything about us, we shouldn’t either.

If only the haters, could afford the same scrutiny when our manger agreed terms with Brighton.

Complete hypocrisy. We might not be in this (expensive) mess.

Good luck Omari, and thanks for 23/24, when you finally got your chance (February) you literally got us over the line. Huge talent. Hull away .., quality, under pressure.

Maybe he didn't feel like he could contribute in Europe ?

I would imagine, along with playing again in the Premier League ( when he gets the chance ), a chance to play in Europe would have been a big draw. I expect he's somewhat disappointed, but if he's as good as Forest obviously believe he is, then we should see what he's capable of at some point during this season, that's if he's as good. Of which, rather like a lot of things at the moment, time will tell.

I'm afraid he thinks he's better than he actually is.

As usual Darkhorse has to slant a thread away from the actual topic to become a sideswipe at Club Management and other fans who disagree with him.
