I don't think we ever spoke to Bogle about his wage demands as we didn't even make a bid as far as I know, although I think we watched him play. I did read some saying he didn't seem ready for the Championship, well, he has already gone some way to proving that wrong. His two goals this evening has already matched Sears' season total!

With Hugill not signing, you would have thought McCarthy would prefer to spend the £1M available on Bogle rather than end up with no one.

Wasn't his debut tonight as he played against Sheff Weds on Friday night and kept being caught offside. Looked a little out of his depth then but fair play to him, he's bounced back and scored twice. Just think that MM thought that with Moore having no track record, getting Bogle as well would be too much of a risk at the price being asked whereas we could get Samuel on loan and if that didn't work then apart from wages, nothing lost.

Look at how much money Brentford made with Hogan (Or dare I say it Huddersfield with Rhodes). So actually spending money can be a good investment!

but surely he doesnt want to make a profit?

if he makes a profit he wont have any loss to offset against his tax and if he isn't getting any tax back he wont be making a profit?

Hopefully he does ok at Wigan, gets relegated and we then decide to sign him in the summer.

Mick is always going on about 'tried and tested' in the championship, which is why we were after Ward but if Bogle plays well and gets half a dozen goals then there will be plenty of teams after him, which hopefully we will be one of.
